Well, I meant what I said, but I don't take much that I read in this forum serious, so you got me there!

Conspiracy theorists are going crazy over Origin but no one can prove that it is scanning your system files.  It is just a Steam competitor.  People need to stop spreading rumors and half truths as gospel on these forums as there are a lot of people without technical knowladge that could be swayed by it.

Honestly the only thing that makes me wary about Origin is that if your forum account gets banned apparently you lose access to your games. Aside from that it seems it does everything Steam does but its EA.

Easy solution - use an alternate account for participation in "risky" discussions.
Aside from that, yes, this measure is mental retardation in it's pure form and is/will be one of the main causes why EA<Valve, taken all other variables are equal.
