I would've loved a noticeable difference though, it keeps things fresh.

Considering that ME2 is extremely different from ME1 it wasn't unlikely the same might happen with ME2 and 3.
I'm afraid Bioware will continue their process of relentlessly streamlining anything they can get their hands on just like they did with Dragon Age II.
I honestly consider skipping ME3 for that reason.

I doubt they can streamline ME3 anymore than they did ME2. don't worry, the skill tree already looks more in depth. Besides, as someone said before, since they used the Vindicator icon even though Shepard was wielding a Mattock is proof that this is a WIP

- Lightning is a bit more dynamic, less prerendered
- Better shaders (Hair, armor)

Yeah that's true, but I didn't expect a very different game because of the critical success of Mass Effect 2.

Have you seen the screens of the skill trees and weapon mod stuff? It appears to strike a balance between the first two, with the possibility of much deeper customization.

Those are improvements yes, but nothing that would make for a very different experience, at first glance of course.

Do you have a setting besides "Confrontational" and "Total Arse"?

Only way that ME3 will be a greater critical success than ME2 is if we get more catsuits. One just isn't enough.

Gamespot ran an interview with CHuds a few hours ago in which he showcased some of the "RPG elements" like weapon customization and skill trees. Screenshots are floating around in a few of the other threads atm.trucoolbrees wrote...

Anyway I don't see much of a problem, wasn't expecting huge changes in the look or base gameplay. They were not revamping the entire things this time. They seem to be mostly taking what we had in ME2, refining it and adding new stuff. It’s also not finished yet so yeah that UI could very well be a place holder.

As for those who say that they were expecting another jump, why? Bioware have said in the past that they were using ME2 as a base and would be making improvements on that framework

So you are not curious to see how the story you began way back in 2007 will end? I don't get people like you
