First things first. I appologize if this has been brought up a lot but I need a little with the Cerberus Network.

I recieved Mass Effect 2 for free through purchasing Dragon Age 2 when it first came out and I was just wondering if the Cerberus Network came with it or not. Here is a list of stuff that was registered to my account when I redeemed the code for Mass Effect 2;

Zaeed - The Price of Revenge (Cerberus Network)
Cerberus Weapon and Armor (Cerberus Network)
Normandy Crash Site (Cerberus Network)
Cerberus Arc Projector (Cerberus Network)
Firewalker Pack (Cerberus Network)

Rest of items on my list is for Dragon Age 1/2

All I need to know is if it came with the game or not. If you can't tell through this then I'll just take it I have to purchase it.

This leads me onto my next problem.

Whenever I start up Mass Effect 2, it fails to connect to the Cerberus Netowrk. When I try to connect through the main menu it sitll fails. I did try something I found on the forums about disabling something (can remember exactly what it was) but it didn't work. I also tryed to the usual thing of checking my firewall and my anti-virus in case its blocking it, but nothing thus far has helped.

If anyone can give me some help, that would be awsome.

Much thanks,

-Geno

The stuff you listed is basically the stuff that comes with the Cerbeus Network.
Logging into the in-game "Cerberus Network" has 2 different problems, one which is caused at the PC end on Vista and Win7 systems, another which is at EA's end.
If yuo have Wni7 or Vista, open up a command prompt and type this in.
netsh int tcp set global ecncapability=disabled

The other problem which is at EA's end, only seems to be a problem when trying to login automatically. Disable auto-login, and try and login manually, and it should work.

Just finished all the native(?) content and now I'm having the same problem, I think, that Bogsnot solves? Although I have XPx64 so maybe the command line would be different?
I can only access the cerberus news updates in game ( five of them) any button inside the mass effect splash page or main menu that links to online content brings up a blank page connecting nothing in IE. Can't get to any dlc..

Well, I can get to the dlc through my profile on this site so I guess it's mostly a non-issue for anyone who creates an account for this forum using the info they registered the game with, unless they come up with something that can only be accessed via the in-game interface.

So if you used the same e-mail and password for your game registration as on this forum, check your user profile via this link: Your Registered Game Content That should at least show you what you have registered.

Command line is the same regardless of 32 or 64 bit versions of Windows.
If you still have login problems, it is related to the EA servers. The EC problem was there since the game came out, the secondary problem with teh servers statred approximately the same time as the Arrival DLC was released.
People who do not have Arrival also have the same problem, so its not limited to that DLC, more than likely the demand on server resources from havnig released yet more ME2 DLC, as well as DA2 at around the same time.

So I tried the cmd prompt thing and it still didn't let me login. I then disabled the auto login and tried to login manually and it didn't work, just keeps saying it can't connect EA servers or something. Thanks for the help.

I did however manage to pick up both Mass Effect 1 and 2 today for Xbox (used) in a bundle for £20 (about $32-33) and the Cerberus code from the copy of Mass Effect 2 was unused so I can access it through my Xbox and I'm just gonna leave the PC version for now.

Again, much thanks for trying to help.

Here's the first issue with Cerberus for ME2 for the PC version. You have to register all of your serial #'s. regardless of steam or Digital DL or whatever. you gotta register them all

For example, I got the steam version and I raised kain about not having the DLC for the ceberus network stuff. The feedback I got was to make sure the game and serials were registered. Within 24hours all was good.

Additionally, the game servers are also to somewhat to blame from what I've been told. Sometimes the seirals won't register and yes, that means you have to do an uninstall and reinstall to get it fixed (I've been told there are other ways, but for simplicity sake, let's stick with tried and true.

In regards to your connecting to Cerberus, it's not a firewall thing per se, but you can double check and see if the executable for ME2 is in the 'block list'. And if you haven't figured it out. Cerberus is ME2's DRM... This is how they keep tabs on serial #'s etc.

The only other thing is that your cerberus program got corrupted and easiest (yet crappiest) fix is to uninstall the blasted thing and do a full reinstall of it all... Yes, it happened to me and yes that's exactly how I did it. In any case, the above is what I had to go through and deal with. Hopefully your's will be easier.
