Just a heads up to everyone with nVidia cards - On June 1, nVidia released their new 275.33 drivers. We have confirmed that these drivers can cause a 100% reproducible crash for some users. Although Dragon Age II PC Patch 1.03 was released around the same time, this specific crash is driver-specific and is unrelated to the patch.

We are working with nVidia to ensure they correct the issue in their drivers. In the meantime, affected users are advised to roll their nVidia drivers back to the 270.61 version to correct the problem.

Thank you!

UPDATE (July 28th, 2011):

280.19 Beta drivers have been released today: http://www.nvidia.co...eta-driver.html. Seems to have fixed a lot of issues so far. Will update when it's confirmed to be 100% safe.

UPDATE (September 7th, 2011):

The nVidia drivers are well out of beta and have been confirmed as resolving the reported crash issue. Thanks for your patience.

nVidia has informed us that the issue will be fixed in the next version of their drivers (280.xx). Their current ETA for this ~3 weeks (i.e. early to mid-July).

Thanks wardgrey - although individual users experience may vary based on the specifics of their hardware configuration, that's definitely a good suggestion.

Serefinn - It shouldn't make a difference. The video drivers and game patch are separate pieces of software. They do interact but it shouldn't matter which order to install them in.

We've received word from nVidia that the 280.19 beta drivers are now up on www.nvidia.com under “Driver Downloads” -> “Beta and Archived Drivers.”

Let us know if that fixes it for you.

Thanks,
Rob

Whoops! Note to self... must hit refresh before posting. :P

Glad to hear that the beta drivers appear to be working!
