Sorry guys, we're on their timeline. They'll release it when it's ready.

Thanks for the update, even if it isn't much. Gone back to playing DA:O with some of the recommended mods. Waiting on more DLC before doing anymore replays. I've taken 3 of our DA:O games through DA2 already.

Yeah, it would be nice if nvidia releases new drivers soon. I've bought DA2 two days ago on steam and my game keeps crashing whenever I talk to that captain to get into the Kirkwall. (i play on fully maxed out settings)

Just updated to the 275.33 driver recently and while the game stopped randomly freezing/crashing at area-loading intervals. It now has these weird shader-tiles that follow my party around during movement/combat. Sure these can be ignored entirely, but it's weird. I use a GTX 570 and never had freezing or lighting issues with DA2 before...or ever for that matter. Wondering if it's some issue with DX11 rendering in DA2 for this latest update. Which would unfortunately imply that this is something on Bioware's end that requires fixing b/c the 275.33 driver works marveously for every other game and even boosts Crysis 2's performance when running the DX11 and High-Res patches.

But if the random area-load freezing stops, I'll ignore the weird ass shader/possible lighting issues. Don't feel like downgrading to the "High" setting and I am not rolling back to an older driver (which can cause issues with card performance).

Addendum: While downgrading from 275.33 to 270.61 is not advisable due to many major card-affecting issues with 270 builds, it should be noted that placing it on High setting does solve the problems affecting most of the users who have posted in this thread. No more cinematic freezing and no more grey tiles that follow you around. Unfortunately it means A.) you aren't using the Very High setting and B.) cannot use the more advanced DX11 features. Hopefully Nvidia will release the 280 build soon, since I'd like to have these issues resolved before Legacy comes out. );

Play it on the "High" setting so it stops crashing during cinematic sequences and during dialogue. That's the only fix I can think of for that while using the new 275..33 driver. =_= Still waiting on build 280.

Thatnk you but that's what I've done to play the game comfortably. :) I read it somewhere in this thread.

I'm just glad it's ONLY DA2 it's having issues with. It actually improves performance in all of my other DX11-related games. Well, technically DA2 does run better with the 275.33 driver (on max settings, 1920x1080 resolution with x8 AA I get at least 55-60 FPS now), but the freezing issues still occur during transitioning cinematic sequences and also randomly crash during area loading (not too mention the odd shader-tiles that follow you around sometimes). But since those issues existed before this driver was released from what I've been researching, I guess it's not entirely unplayable.

Serefinn - It shouldn't make a difference. The video drivers and game patch are separate pieces of software. They do interact but it shouldn't matter which order to install them in.

the lack of a 280.xx beta driver is disturbing...

That stinks as the new 275 driver fixes some performance issues with The Witcher 2! Now I have to choose! Doh

I know, and it's made worse because Witcher 2 Patch 1.3 is in line with 275.33.

I looked and saw a 275.50 beta driver, but saw no mention of Dragon Age 2.

I'm having the same crashes even with the 270.61 drivers. It usualy happens when zoning between instances. Disabling the high detail textures pack seem to have helped it from not crashing every 20 mins.

I'm not doing too badly, I'm running in DX 11, but not with the high textures.

Kinda odd we havent got any fix or update for this matter yet. I'm stil having crashes every now and then so I have to hit esc and miss out on the cutcenes. If only we could get a work-around without rolling back on the drivers, I do play other games bioware !

I use 275.27 and have no crashes whatsoever, running on High settings. GTX 460 SE 1GB, Win 7 64 bit.

Pfft, I guess it's not going to be fixed before the DLC comes out. Oh well.

Actually found out it was the DirectX 11 setting that caused all my troubles. I can run the game with high texture details and I think very high setting as well (can't remember if that's an DX11 setting only?). No more crashes.

Set to Very high. My fabrique oc'd and now manually oc'd GTX460 1GB runs DA2 very nicely when it's fully maxed out (until it crashes). We'll see if u face crashes then. When I lower details to High on DX11, I have no crashes at all.

I was hoping for a fix before the story DLC comes out as well. :( Will have to make do, I suppose.

Flipping through the latest PCGamer, big ad with Hawke endorsing the *other guys* video cards. Related? Makes me wonder...

Been playing 1.02 since this problem became known because I don't want to downgrade my graphic drivers for just one single game. Now when I bought the DLC, I noticed it installed 1.03 too so now my DA2 is unplayable.

Sucks, but I'm still not going to change the drivers because I don't want to mess up the BF3 alpha. Just going to wait for nVidia to come out with an update that fixes this.

pinken, just change game settings to use DirectX 9 instead. Not that much difference in the video quality, and more stable.

DX11 with high instead of very high works fine as well.

This...I have a feeling it has to do with the blur and advanced processing that "Very High" performs.  I am running DX11 on "High" and it is fine.  Doesn't look all that different, either.

Wasn't the release of the Legacy DLC supposed to coincide with the release of the NVIDIA's 280.xx drivers? I was surprised to see Legacy being released without NVIDIA doing the same for the new drivers. I bought Legacy myself but I won't start a new DA2 game until NVIDIA releases the new drivers.
