I'll stick with 280.19 for now but have noticed that my second card (BFG 8800GT OC: used only for physics and is idle most of the time) is running a tad hot at 95 - 100 C. As mentioned above for the 280.26 drivers, it must also plague the beta. How would this be happening anyway? Pushing more voltage into the card? The fan is running as fast (actually sounds faster) than the previous drivers.

Well I installed the latest 280.26 WHQL drivers after waiting for them before playing a new game to finally experience the Legacy DLC, since I wanted to play with the DX10 features (via the DX11 render option, no other choices anyway). So all my hardware is stock speed, stock voltages and configuration, I launched the game and set the render to DX11 and restarted the game, since it needs to be restarted. I played for around 30 minutes when the screen froze, just like before when playing under the DX11 render. There's no difference whatsoever with the new drivers.

So I kept the drivers anyway and switched back to the DX9 render, now it works well, no freezes, I played for a good six hours non-stop, nothing bad happened. Meh, a shame really. I think I'll just bite and buy a DX11 graphics card anyway sometime at the end of this year or early next year, not just due to Dragon Age 2 anyway, I got other games with some DX11 features that I can't experience since my card is a GTX285. So yeah guys, BioWare, the DX11 render in DA2 pretty much doesn't work with DX10-only GPUs I think, even though it mentions in the description of the render that to select it (DX11) we need a DX10-capable card.

Ah well, I'll just play and get to see Legacy, I won't wait until the next drivers come, I bought the DLC and now I'll just play it, screw DX10 effects, going back to DX9, good ol' DX9.

I was having issues with 275.33 drivers whilst using the GTX 580 in DX11 mode. Couldn't get past the opening of Legacy and if playing the normal game it would crash after about 10mins. Held of playing until these drivers were released. Not tired Legacy but played the main game for over 3 hours last night, on DX11 with no crashes. Seems fixed for me :D

Just tried 280.26 with DX11/VeryHigh. Hung at about the 9 minute mark.

Been playing with the Beta driver on a GTX 570 with I7 quad core running at 4.5GHZ, 8 Gig of RipJaw memory, V8 super cooler, ASUS P8P67 Deluxe with dual WD black 1TB and a 1200 Watts CoolMaster silent Pro in an Antec 900 case windows7 Ultimate 64 and not a single problem and that is playing for 6 hours everything cranked up to maximum AA16X all options on and DX11, runs perfect for me :D

I was wondering why my new PC couldn't handle anything above medium setting even though it's less than a week old.

If your question is not about the Geforce 275.33 graphics drivers, it is off-topic, but "newness" is totally meaningless.

it seems 280.26 doesnt let me use dx11 renderer option which is wierd i dont know about 275.33 but didnt have that installed when i received my copy of dragon age 2 as i just got it today
i noticed this thread so i was glad i wasnt on this driver version but for some reason the latest driver version disable the option to use dx11 renderer wtf??
i downgraded to 270.61 as this thread mentions 275.33 has issues
i went through patch notes and i see 275.33 and 280.26 being useless to me anyway

i guess the only thing useful is the other updates provided such as audio drivers

I just got a new computer, Win 7 64 bit, it has 275.33 installed and I'm having freezes during cutscenes. The interesting thing is that the freezes occur in the exact same point of the cutscene every time, and if I hit escape to avoid the problematic cutscene(s) I can go on playing. Could this be caused by the driver? I would like to know before I roll back to 270.61.

Anyone else getting the "Could not detect graphic hardware" error when attempting to install the beta drivers? Running on Windows 7 64-bit with a GTX 580.

Nope, running it on a single monitor. The error pops up at the very start of the installation process.

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm an idiot. Figured it out. xP

I'm an idiot too. I get the same message. Can you share what it was?

No need to go as far back in driver version. The 280.19 beta driver works perfectly.
275.33 just does not work. Try the beta driver and the problem will go away.

Heck, the 280.26 WQHL version is out on the nVidia site now. Seems to be trouble-free for me!

You will have to be a great deal more forthcoming than that.

And how does it look? There are some mistakes or poor performance? Any experience?

As you can see in the last update that Rob made, the crashes have been solved and I can prove that. In my case the desktop crashes are rare, even in very high. Although in my case I wasn't very affected with the crashes like some people were and I always played in very high.

I tried going back to the old driver... Incompatable with this version of Windows!?

Trying out the Beta now.

EDIT: The beta version still makes my computer crash... I hope my computer isn't damaged from crashing 20 times, incompetent Driver programmers!

There are driver versions for Windows 7 that did work in both DA2, and ME-2, released at about the same time as Windows 7 was, plus the 270.21 (for DA-2 only of that pair).

For those who still have problems, there is a new driver available (285.62). Maybe it will fix some remaining issues?

Question: any thoughts on the new Nvidia 285.62 driver? Since the last debacle I've stayed with the 270.51 driver.

Well darn, I hate to be redundant. LOL:pinched:

They're doing great...so far. My issue with random discolorations and spikey shadows apparently are gone. Feels stable.

According to a recent message in the forums, several manufacturers of GTX570 and 580 cards set up the power incorrectly, which screws up Dx11. New BIOS flash updates are being prepared (have been prepared). If any members are having trouble with those, check with your manufacturer for a download and instructions.
