Well, the high lords of DV have listened (or planned it from day one); melee in ME3 got upgraded and refined.
With over-cover pulls, different blades for each class and possible skilltree enhancments,
melee is no longer a last ditch, heavily executed option. Thanks, DV team!

Now, let's talk how can we dial that in, make melee work creatively if needed.
each class has diffrent blade he or she will use and different tactical implications
(Speed, Strength, Damage type) and as such may be used in creative ways;
Like, now that melee for the soldier works in splinter cell: conviction M&E style,
it wont work as an AOE attack anymore (as far as we know), and with husks aplenty
now that earth is reaper-central, we'll probably need it.
(possible solution: tap MELEE for AOE, hold for execution-style)

With modding back, I can't help but wonder if blades may have customization options as well,
Such as Stun (for large enemies who wouldn't be killed by a single blow) or "poison" (Damage over time)
effects. An incindiery blade was already mentioned as the engineer's melee attack (as of this post, anyway)
so melee may be excluded from modding, but since this is the last time mass effect is being tuned then this might
not be the best choice (in my opinion, at least); some players, me included, like the role-playing aspect of
picking the best tools for our prespective and strategy. melee will play a larger part in combat this time,
and should be as deep and tunable as the other instruments of combat (weapons, powers).

Anyhow, melee is shaping up to be a valuble tool in ME3, but it still needs to be honed, just like all the tools
we're going to use, i'll keep coming up with new suggestions as more of the game will be revealed.

I, of course, don't need to tell you guys to come up with your own ideas.
(and for heaven's sake if you don't like melee then at least EXPLAIN and not MOAN about how this is a "shooter".
Soldiers today still learns HtH combat for a reason.)

1.You already noted there is an existing thread, use that.
and 2.I doubt this is the "Ideas" stage of the game, im guessing they already have the melee integrated into the game, and im also guessing its gonna be the same for each class.
