surely this wouldnt be hard to do. just let us pick the zoom and height of the camera. fallout 3 has a very versatile option like this

If Mass Effect 3 has same or worse camera shaking and zoom fov camera changing effects than in ME1 and ME2 then it just another game which I can't play, because of motion sickness.
I have to continue playing Dragon Age, until I figure out how to disable camera shaking in Mass Effect games. I hate games with camera shaking, why developers can't understand that some people are sensitive to camera shaking effects.
Make force-feedback effects or subwoofer audio effects if you like to do the shaking, then you can then use gaming chairs with rumble feature to get real rumble effects and not annoying artificial camera shaking.

I can't remember where I read it but the camera is supposed to change to give you a better view of what's coming at you from the sides as opposed to just seeing what's in front. if I come across the link I'll edit it.theSteeeeels wrote...

Close camera angles may provide intimacy and a sense of being claustrophobic (better suited to horror games, btw), but they really diminish the player's sense of scale and they give you a much larger blind spot that you then have to contend with, not to mention it also doesn't suit squad-based games at all, really.
Swinging the camera in while firing, ala GOW, is probably the best solution; when you're crouching in cover or walking/running, though, please pull the damn camera back. Or give us something like what the OP is suggesting.

Yeah, you're right. it was confirmed, some where that the camera angle for ME3 will be not as close as it was in ME2

Considering you had to install a mod that made the camera more center just to have it playable in 3rd person I wouldn't use FO3 as a model here.

I tried to rationalise it to myself by surmising it was done that way so that they could effortlessly have a fixed distance (and position) and still allow you to cram into tight spaces without clipping the walls.

Head bobbing and camera shaking should be optional also!

At a rough guess, the amount of people who would get motion sickness from camera movement and/or head-bobbing would be < 2%.
The amount of people who would be p*ssed that Shep moves around at a fixed height, with no realistic movement would be >2%
The amount of developers getting p*ssed off due to minute fragments of the gaming community demanding a toggle for everything that upsets them would be approx 100%.
If you dont like how a game is developped, then your best bet is to buy it on PC and learn how to mod. Camera shake is easy to remove in PC versions of ME1. ME2 should also be easy to remove, as there is an entry for it in the coalsced.ini.
