I can't say I know what thread you are referring to as most questions are addressed one way or another here. At the very least there will be a comment directing you to contact EA support (at least from me anyway).
There are some things I need clarified from your post, so I can only respond to what I think is part of the case with your problem with the below.
(1) You mentioned that originally you downloaded on his 360. Whose Gamertag was the redemption code used on? This is quite important as it then links with your EA accounts as well, so you yourself (even if you don't tell us) will need to be clear on who owns the dlc.
(2) If the dlc is yours and was downloaded on your Gamertag (and hence EA account), but on his 360; then you can reclaim the dlc for your new 360. You will need to perform the
license transfer so the dlc follows your console. It is also worthwhile to
recover your Gamertag as well (this should allow you to play offline for example). This is assuming that the dlc is yours, of course.
(3) If the dlc is yours, downloaded by your account, you should also have a download history with your Gamertag profile somewhere. Access
this to redownload any dlc that you didn't purchase like promotions. This would allow you to redownload the Blood Dragon armour and your game should work fine as a result.
Disclaimer: all the above, as I had mentioned, assumes the dlcs are yours. If they were someone else's then the suggestions I have made on that assumption are not applicable to you (and there is enough in your post to make me think that they weren't yours). If that is the case, then I am not sure what can be done from a user aided sense. In that case all I can suggest is you contact
EA support to see if they can assign the Blood Dragon armour to your account so you can carry on gaming. As far as I am aware there is no workaround as such for the 360.
