There are still quite a few things broken with this game. I don't play it anymore, but I'll remember it never got completely fixed the next time I go out to buy a game.

Ugh, I feel like I'm being a bit pathetic to keep harping on it every other day, but I distinctly remember Luke Barret saying that they simply finished the "Launch" patches, but it didn't mean they were done entirely, they just weren't immediately working on it.

It would provide tons of closure to just say, "Sorry, patching just isn't necessary," or, "Hey, patch may take a while longer!" That way we know, but right now it just feels like Bioware does not care, and is that cold aloof father that you know pays child support but still doesn't bother visiting you anymore.

...Hmm. That analogy might need some work, but my point still stands.

I believe one of the devs in the main forum said they weren't working on any patches at the moment.

Here are the latest posts regarding patches that I could find. Both are from yesterday.

Patching is still possible. Patching is always done based on (not in any particular order):

  • what issues are being encountered
  • how many poeple are encountering them
  • how critical are they to the playing of the game
So,
for made up example, a DLC comes out and there is a blocking bug that
prevents all mages from finishing. This would get fixed. But if the bug
was that X sword only did 10 damage instead of the 15 it was supposed to
do, this likely would not.

Currently, the team is not working on patching, but they could patch again in teh future is needs warrant.

I've run into a new bug. During Act 1 I went on Isabela's quest Finders Keeper's and gave Martin the location of his cargo. Then I started a rivalry with Isabela. In act 2 Martin is missing. I also cannot access his chest to buy any poisons or things of the like off of him in the Hanged Man where he normally is at.

I am level 14, femHawke, warrior class. Personality is aggressive for this play through.

Ok I've been running into this since DA2 came out. The quest in Act 2 where you are supposed to go into the Fade to save Feynriel is glitched. The game guide that I got with DA2 states that you can take Sebastian into the fade with you because he's incorruptible. Yet whenever I get to the point of selecting my party for the fade, he is darkened out and I cannot select him. I've tried approaching the quest with and with out him in my party. I've had no luck being able to bring him into the fade. I've tried this on casual and even nightmare difficulty, again no joy.

I am playing a femhawke. I've done this as a mage femhawke, rogue femhawke, and now as a warrior femhawke. I'm around level 17 in my current playthrough of the game as the warrior femhawke. If the game guide is to be believed, this should not be happening.

It's not a glitch - I have that same guide, and it's a travesty at best (I like to call it a "stragedy" guide). Sebastian can not and will not go into the fade with you. I wish he would, but nope.

If you start paying attention, you'll notice that not only are there a lot of things wrong in the guide, there are also things missing. :?

Ok new glitch/bug whatever. When running around Kirkwall the game seems to freeze for moments at a time. I'm on a 360 slim. This never happened before the patches came out. It freezes for a few seconds, I cannot make my party move, cannot open the pause menu with the right or left bumpers on my 360 controller, nor can I access the main menu where the save and load options are. Then after a few seconds, sometimes a minute the party moves again and I can continue playing. This is out of battle when this happens. It has happened a couple of times in battle too.

Bounty Hunter quest is glitched. I've killed all 3 mages in the quest but the codex says I've only killed 2 of the 3. It refuses to update and state that I've killed all 3 and give me my reward for doing so. Level 18/19 femhawke, warrior, aggressive personality.

I don't think I have a solution for you but out of curiosity, is this happening on a game that you started before the patch came out? Reason I ask is I also have a 360 slim and I never had this problem, but I also deleted all my pre patch games and started anew.

This is something that became more pronounced with each patch for me (old school 360). Connecting to the DA servers also made it worse. I changed my preferences to never connect to the servers, and just became more patient while running around (allowing time for the machine to catch up).

I bought a new Xbox since the last time I played (the one I'd been using started green-screening), so I'm not sure if maybe in my case it was just a failing XBox.

I have a 360 slim. It's only about a year and a half old. This game that I'm playing it on is a fresh post-patch game. So no it isn't because I started the game pre-patch, then patched it and played it after that. Which says that it's a patch issue, because this never happened before the patches.

Is anyone else having problems with the fire and smoke effects in the game? They cut through the black boxes at the top and bottom of the screen in every cutscene that has a torch, a candle or a fire. It's really distracting.
EDIT: and I'm still waiting for the Zevran romance fix...:crying:

I've noticed a visual glitch on both my PTs during Merril's quest in Act 3 "A New Path", upon entering Pride's End during the ensuing converstaion when Fenris is speaking and camera goes to him, he dissapears. He can be heard but his body is missing. Following his spoken bit, when he's in the background, his image shows up like normal.

it's obvioulsy not game breaking but odd enough that I wanted to mention it.


EDIT TO ADD - I've also had ghost Sebastians during fights, 2 fights, I forget which was first but in the fight at the end of New Path, with the first group of dalish warriors, I see 2 Sebastians, one just standing there doing nothing and the other doing normal combat moves, once the fight is over, it's back to one Sebastian. Again, just a visual glitch but very odd

@april the second one isn't a glitch, it's one of Sebastian's talents. Rouge!Hawke can have it as well.

During character creation I am unable to change Hawke's first name. Playing male Hawke mage.

I've had that problem as well, if changing the name is important to you then you'll need to reload the game and keep restarting it until it allows you to change the name.

I play on a really OLD tv, the text in this game (and ME2) is TINY so I cannot read most of the codex/journal or the talent tree descriptions.. I missed the 'decoy' talent completely.

Maker's Sigh is still bugged for me. Sebastian has points in 15 abilities, I user the Maker's Sigh, and suddenly he has 16 to spend.

Edit: Seems to work perfectly on Hawke, Fenris, and Merrill - what gives?
