Well I can't comment on that. But being a female who usually plays a female in game and usually gets the hetero romance only, I suddenly find myself crazily intrigued by Morrigan perhaps enough to roll a male character and romance her.
Which is strange because that's NEVER occurred to me before, but I guess it's just that these companions are so intriguing and in depth it makes you want to know them from all perspectives.
Oh so
very much the same for me.
I'm usually incredibly
uncomfortable playing male characters. I have a hard time distancing myself from my characters- they're extensions of me, and I'm not male, and I feel awkward playing males and I don't like that awkwardness.
But I really want to explore every facet of companion interaction I can, and I really liked Morrigan. The first time through when she opened up enough to claim me as a dear friend I got all choked up. I want to see her open her heart up more, and since I can't set her up with Alistair (oh wouldn't that be fireworks), and she's completely heterosexual, it'll have to be me as a male.
I think it says a lot about this game when people are stepping outside their comfort zones simply to experience other relationships with the companions, because they want to, because of how the companions affected them. It's wonderful.
I just started a playthrough with a City Elf. I had absolutely no idea what the origin story was going to be like, and all I can say here is by the time it was over the mantra KILL ALL HUMANS KILL ALL HUMANS was playing over and over again in my head. It will be interesting to see what will develop with the party as this character. I fell head over heels for Alistair my first time, will that affect this playthrough or will Alistair really have to work to even break through my City Elf's shell enough to get her as a friend? After this one, though, I should probably try a playthrough as a male. I just can't decide which origin would work best.
