Deactivate Mode - Tactics

Is there any way using the Tactics screen to tell my characters to deactivate sustained abilities at the end of combat?
I generally want to start each encounter with no sustained abilities active, and then my Tactics will trigger them when that character reaches certain pre-determined Stamina or Mana levels. That way I never have to pay the Stamina or Mana costs for sustained abilities.
I did the same thing in DAO, but in DAO the sustainables always had a visible effect, so I could see they were on after combat and thus go turn them off.
Since there's no way for me to see easily that the sustained abilities are still being sustained without going through and checking every character every time, is there a way to deactivate my sustained abilities when combat ends?
Thanks.

At the bottom of your tactics list:
Self: at least on enemy still alive --> skip tactics.
Self: any --> deactivate mode: mode 1
Self: any --> deactivate mode: mode 2
etc.
Seems to work to get Merrill to deactivate blood magic at the end of combat... usually.
This probably messes up with waves in lots of cases though.

It would be a little redundant to have a condition which wouldn't be able to trigger.
Anyway, I think i'm giving up on DA2 for a while. Maybe I'll get more incentive to play it a few more times once some dlc/DA3 comes closer but atm I'm kicking up another masseffect2 run.
Haven't played any shooting games in so long, so inaccurate hahaa

I don't think so. Dog never gets summoned in advance.mr_afk wrote...

When the tactic I mentioned above seems to work properly, I see Merrill's mana bar gain a big chunk back from deactivating sustains a few seconds after combat ends (after spell effects vanish and XP granted, etc).Sylvius the Mad wrote...

Maybe it would work better like this?
Self: at least on enemy still alive --> Skip tactics.
Ally: Health < 100% --> Skip tactics.
Self: any --> deactivate mode: mode 1
Self: any --> deactivate mode: mode 2

Thanks, everyone. It would appear that I can use Tactics to do this.
Brilliant.

no, im just not going to update either of those threads any further. I will most likely continue to direct people in your situation to the correct answer, regardless if I posted it or not.Sylvius the Mad wrote...

Be aware, if the only remaining enemy is a stealthed rogue the "at least 1 enemy is alive: skip tactics" will cease being active and allow the tactics placed after it to trigger. It should read, "at least 1 visable enemy is alive : skip tactics" so it will match the behavior of the condition.

Unless the eventual death of that stealthed rogue triggers another wave of enemies, that shouldn't be a problem.Be aware, if the only remaining enemy is a stealthed rogue the "at least 1 enemy is alive: skip tactics" will cease being active and allow the tactics placed after it to trigger. I complained when they removed the visible effects from sustainable abilities outside of combat, and this was one of the reasons why. It's good to know they added another feature which mostly fixes it.
