After watching a few of ME3 gameplay videos, I have come across the reason Cerbrus has turned against Shepard. Cerberus has been indoctrinated by the Repers. I know there was a lot of speculation going around as to why they were coming after Shepard, but they haven't touched down on the Illusive Man and where his loyalties lie.
Do you think T.I.M. is also going to be indoctrinated or set apart in an attempt to help Shepard?

And here is one of the best gameplay videos IMO if you haven't watched one yet.

Well considering he sent Kai Leng to assassinate shepard in Retribution, and that he's behind everything going on with Cerberus, I'd say yeah - he's indoctrinated. I wonder what that means if you gave T.I.M. the collector base at the end of ME2 though.

I'm still hoping there's more to it than simply being indoctrinated. I'm getting very tired of everyone being indoctrinated...

It's basically the answer for everything now...

When did he send Kai Leng against Shepard in retribution? I don't recall that.

When was Shepard featured in Retribution? I don't recall that.

He/she is only mentioned very early. Something like "Shepard has become unpredictable." that's all I remember.

It's the answer to everything because it is the ultimate weapon the reapers have, and nobody is immune to its effects.

Yeah, the game is still in development now so nothing is final. But I agree, it seems that if something has gone wrong, its safe to say that someone has been indoctrinated, which is downright predictable. I'm pretty sure Bioware said that it is one of their goals to make the plot constantly changing and the direct opposite of predictable...

Jesse Huston says in the BioWare Q&A (see sticky thread) that the Alliance Navy is nearly destroyed in the initial attack on Earth. Also note the newscast video, which talks about thousands of ships concentrated above Earth.

Therefore, it would appear that a Human-centric victory is impossible from the outset. Cerberus has no interest in living in a galaxy where humans are dependent on other species for their very existence.

My guess is that the Reapers present TIM with a very simple choice: We'll let you and your kind live (which would be a lie) put we want something from you first: Shepard.

That is a very interesting theory. But the Reapers could just control T.I.M.'s mind and force him to do anything they wish through indoctrination, without giving him a free will in the decision. Maybe the Reapers already have control of T.I.M. and having him command the troops to capture.

I think this parallels Saren's case. The Reapers indoctrinate him so much that he will basically do anything they tell him and that whatever he has been commanded to do is undoubtedly the only right way

An interesting suggestion. If things looked truly grim for humanity, I could see Illusive Man considering such an offer in a pinch. I doubt he'd go in blindly, however. If he is still controlling Cerberus, he's probably either indoctrinated, or he's trying to find a weakness in the reapers by working with them.

That's just Saren's belief all over again though. Except for wanting Shepard.

I'm hoping it's just some cells of Cerberus that are indoctrinated and not TIM himself. In my opinion that would cheapen his character and only add fuel to the fire for those who regard ME2 as being largely pointess. Not that I'm one of those people.

Having TIM leading Cerberus against you would be an excellent opportunity for Miranda and Jacob to part part of a splinter that helps you.

Actually as I sit and read some of the posts in the thread I'm intrigued by the idea of an internal war within Cerberus itself. one faction is indoctrinated , the other not ... the resolution of that factional war would be one of Shepard's missions. ... just thinking out loud here is all.

Kai Leng was sent to take out Grayson in Retribution, not Shepard.

Just because some Cerberus members have been indoctrinated, doesn't mean all of Cerberus has been. The Illusive Man could be untouched... or dead.

Problem with that is Hudson said during one of the demos yesterday that TIM was behind everything.

Correct.

Either way, the all indoctrinated thing concerning Cerberus is a bit of a let down to be honest... After having read Evolution over and over, I had something completely different in mind to be honest, but then again, it's still to early I guess.
