Also, I really owe thanks to someone who criticised me for buying $7 Sebastian on this forum, but I can't remember who it was. I turned this comment, directed at me, "You are responsible for the FIASCO modern gaming has become" into an 800 word article about the history/evolution of DLC practices and got $125 for it, so I think I can pump some of that back into BioWare for a story I'm sure I'll enjoy. Heheh.

That is freakin' fantastic. :o Good on ya.

I like DAII very much. That said, it was disappointing in some respects. There are many games which were greatly improved by additional content or special/extended editions.  I think there is a chance for DAII to be redeemed for many people with a well-done expansion.

(I would humbly suggest that the publisher might want to offer a significant free expansion to original purchasers. That would go a long way to regaining good will.  Some will never be happy, though.)

An expansion couldn't hurt, though hopefully Bioware learned their lesson with Awakening and won't rush it out full of bugs and short on content.

Now that I think of it, that's just what they did with DA2. Hopefully an expansion won't be more of the same in that regard. Bioware still needs some fans of the franchise left when DA3 comes out.

hopefully it will be like Borderlands DLC, and function like miniature expansion packs instead of single quests.

It's a great game! Hub and I had loads of fun co-oping together on it.

Oh, you definitely should. The worst of the bunch is probably The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned. Everyone after that is just pure, unadulterated fun.

I enjoyed the Mass Effect 2 DLC that was offered (well the story ones anyway) and that was 1-3 hours of gameplay per DLC depending on the difficulty you played on.

I am hoping the reason for the delay in DLC is they are taking some of the feedback we have given over what we feel are shortcomings in Dragon Age 2 and trying to make the DLC better by incorporating it.

My hope as well. They are wise to take their time with it.

And I shall remain skeptical, and see what the general consensus is among people I trust, rather than "professional reviews". If it's positive, it's a purchase.

I'm pretty sure Luke Barett posted a note a while back in one of the DLC topics, that the dev's are taking the feedback into consideration to make a much more enjoyable, and better DLC.

Yup he did say that. Which is why I was hopeful.

It’s such odd behavior to me how whenever someone makes a thread about something to do with Dragon Age 2, and a few select people cannot wait to barge in and make every one understand how much they disliked the game. It has to be known. The entire world has to know! Disappointment to that degree should be handled like a communicable disease. Stay away from others until it passes and cover your mouth whenever possible.

But yes, I cannot wait for some fresh DLC. I would love to see some “in between” the years content. I would also be happy with some dealing with the aftermath of what happened too.

I somehow believe that certain bits of the launch trailer of DA2 will be DLC. I mean you can clearly see Hawke and Isabella standing near a ship before she points a blade towards his neck and slowly walks away ..and don't forget all those mages in black standing in a open field, one has to wonder what's that all about.

I remember that as well. And yes, that is why I am not complaining for any DLC soon. I don't want anything rushed.
I'd rather they take their time so it can be more enjoyable.^_^

Something with a Qunari female, maybe romanceable companion? I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, want to see something to that effect. They just so cool XD

... Etc.

Everyone wants a qunari female. That's all well and good for Hawke, but I can't help thinking about how... er... disappointing she would find a human lover. He would seem terribly frail to her. Her arms would be the size of his thighs. Etc.

Though it is refreshing to find that some guys at least do not feel threatened by physically powerful women.

Eh, theres all kinds, Tal-Vashoth and all that. It could even be a Qunari born away from their homeland, so she be all different cause shes raised in enemy lands or whatever, so she can see both the Qun side and the non-Qun side. Eh, just spouting, but its an example of the many ways it could work. Besides, have you seen the concept art for female Qunari? Just plain awesomeness:

They won't announce it until a week or so before it is out.

I don't know, Bioware isn't very consequent with that. Most of DA DLC was announced a long time before the release and at least one time they just realized the day it should be released, that they didn't know when it will come out and it took another month. Yeah I haven't forgotten that ostagar dlc.

Also with ME2 it was very inconsequent with some dlc just being announced the day it came out and some months before it was released (LotSB for instance).

I certainly hope they won't release the lost years. On the other hand I hope they do, since that was just a HUGE portion of the game missing (yeah... it was not rushed :?) BUT I'm certain they won't release it for free, which they should so I'm back again at they shouldn't. Since it's just a part of the game that feels cut out because they were nailed to the release date, charging for something like that would be the lowest point reachable, so I hope they won't do that.

I'll just wait and see what they'll release and from my point of view in this moment, I won't buy it because I think I'll only think "Well... that should have been in the game in the first place!", like new areas and more diversity in Quests.

So all in all I have the feeling I will be disappointed with whatever they can come up.
Because if it's just the same kind of quest again in the same boring areas ... well that won't impress me either Oo

They have to charge for it because XBL and PSN will charge them to release it. "Free DLC" isn't free except for PC (and that's only if it's distributed by EA directly and not through any other platform), it would be sold at a loss for EA/Bioware. I honestly would've liked to see something at least like the Cerberus Network implemented in the Black Emporium (missed opportunity as many have pointed out all over these forums) where micro-level content was given out for free and then you paid for larger add-ons.

Lieutenant Buzzkill strikes again... yeah I didn't consider those consoleros and their bondage relationship with XBL and PSN. As you can see I'm not one of those console owners but just being remembered of something like this makes me feel bad for you guys.  I've seen plenty of L4D 2 Campaigns being released for free on pc and for a load of money for those console owners.
Makes me kind of sad, that while you already have to pay more for games, the devs can't even give you a present to say "Thanks for your support".

One comment I have is that it'd be really cool if Bioware created romance-specific DLC every Valentine's Day as an annual tradition.

Good opportunity to introduce the "Booze DLC, for those left out and lonely!"

But that would be 14.2.2012... you think they'll still be releasing dlc at that point? I guess they'll bring a transition dlc for da2/3 as a final dlc, like arrival for me2/3. And I wouldn't be surprised if they launch that this by the end of this year.

Chris Priestly said in another thread that Bioware aren't ready to talk about new DLC at the moment, but when they are they'll post about it.

I think that they are aware of the demand, and I'm sure they've explored the options. We just need to have patiance and wait for everything to fall into place so they can let us know what' s happening. I for one would love more DA2 content. I've loved every game I've played in the DA universe and I simply want to play more of them.

Again, with a romanceable female Qunari. Awesome culture, and very beautiful ladies. It would make for an interesting romance....

Given the dialogue between Sten and Morrigan in DAO, indeed it would be interesting. I wonder what the female Qunari would advise for protection.

I'd have romanced Sten.  I wanted to leave with him on a ship in one playthrough.

You never know though, the whole Sten/Morrigan talk could have been a ruse to scare her off. Maybe he actually would have sat down with a glass of wine and foreplay would consist of dissecting classical literature or the colour schemes of classical art...

Hard to say.  ;)  They are a different bunch.
