How about no outsourcing for the next DA game guys?

On topic, I'd just like to say that I'm probably asking "when do I get to tell them more about DLC!?" just as much as you guys are asking to hear about it. There is a reason for everything, including silence. It will all be worth it in approximately [soon] units of time!

I appreciate you coming in here to say something at least. Even if no specific date was given.
I look forward to seeing it. Still no rush needed, take as much time as needed.

I really like that not much has been revealed about DLC. It makes me look forward to it even more.
I also have a suggestion for any future games...Delete any threads that reveal game spoilers.
There was that one thread when DA:2 came out and I think had it been deleted, the backlash would have been less intense.

In Defense of my fellow DA2 Haters, I would just like to say this. I never posted on a thread before. Ever. I take the time to make my voice heard here because I happen to think that Bioware is a lot better than what they showed us in DA2. I'm also pretty pissed off that I paid sixty bucks for a sequel to a game that was a complete departure from everything I liked about the first game. {edited to avoid sequel war}
I am not going to apologize for suggesting that a certain unnamed developer is a fan of the Prequels, because a lot of my biggest problems with those movies are the same problems I have with this game.
I'm a fan, and a supporter. But I'm not going to pretend you guys didn't screw the pooch on this one. I'm also going to fight this trend of replacing game content with downloadable DLC tooth and nail. The DLC trend is really destroying the quality of Bioware games, and someone has to say something about it.
and I'm the peoples champion...

Just to keep things in perspective... bear in mind that occasionally any dev will make a game that isn't quite as good as some of the others they have made previously (see Konami and the Metal Gear series, for example).
Bioware is allowed to have a "B" game once or twice a decade.
Back on topic though, seriously what's up with DLC? I want to know what Stroud (or whomever) is up to with his Wardens.

I will continue to fight the good fight for you, even if you refuse to acknowledge me as your champion.
Let us just hope that the next DA game isnt a C title.... Fundamentally.

We're back to the soon time units? Please tell us next, it'll be done when it's done... I'm having nostalgia attacks

I am of the opinion that the last TWO Bioware games have been B titles. I enjoyed ME2 enough to forgive its faults, but DA2 is inexcusable.

ME2 doesn't deserve to be called a "B" title along with DA2. Comparing ME2 with DA2 does a real disservice to ME2. Afterall, ME2 was widely considered the Game of the Year by many publications, and is touted as being the best Xbox 360 game in the history of that platform. So unless you think every Xbox 360 game over the last 6-7 years is a "B-" or worse title, ME2 can't be considered a "B" title. And if you do think every Xbox 360 game is that bad (and I know some PC gamers out there think so), well, then you have a problem with the platform in general, not necessarily specific games.
I agree that DA2 was more like a "B" title, and really didn't do justice to the Dragon Age IP. It was an ok game in my book, but with all the expectations from DA:O, it fell flat. I'm willing to give Bioware the benefit of the doubt... every developer has their "B" titles now and again. As long as it isn't the start of a trend, I'll be going into DA3 with an open mind and with every intention of enjoying it.

I agree with Tranzor. ME2 is a "A" Title. As for Dragon Age 2, yes this is a "B" Title compared to other Bioware Title.

I have a nasty feeling they were planning on selling us something that reused the already ridiculously overused levels from the main game, but then everyone attacked the reuse of levels. If that's the case then I'm appalled that they were ever considering doing something so cynical.
I hope that feeling is wrong.

Your definitly not my champion<_<
Feel free to defend the game all you want, the one you considered to be a ''B'' Title. I however am also happy with amount of euro's i paid for this game.
And the DLC trend is'nt destroying the quality of Bioware games, dont think Bioware is the only devoloper who makes DLC. Heck, name me one devoloper who diden't make DLC this past year or two. Be in the forms of continued story line's, mappacks, you name it. DLC is here for a reason, it's here to extend the gameplay, in Bioware's case, storyline continuation, and there's absolutely nothing wrong it.
Sure, one could argue that devolopers release some DLC that was already ment to be in the game, but it was cut out because they diden't have enough time, or not enough space to put it on a single dvd/blue-ray.
In the old day's, or whatever you want to call it, you payed your 60$ for a game, you finished it, and that's it. You had to wait years for a sequal while you were just in awe of that cliffhanger ending you just saw. I'm glad they introduced the form of DLC, you get to play the game you enjoy alot, in Bioware's case, storyline continuation, or new items. I dont mind if it takes them months to finish a DLC, it sure as hell beats waiting one, or two, or three years till you can finally play that one game you enjoyed so much.

My problem is that bioware is giving you less product for the same money. Mass effect showed that a lot of money could be made by selling weapon and appearance packs. DA2 is released, and now suprise suprise you can no longer equip looted armor on companions, bad guys are dropping moldy scarves and the amount of equippable in game items is prractically nonexistant
Why do you think those changes were made?
Story based DLC would be fantastic, what would be even better is if the time had been taken to produce a game that had a story that was worth playing in the first place.
DA2 was a smash and grab to make some money while ME3 was being finished. Buying DLC for a game that gave you less for your money in the first place is nuts.

I jest of course, I've never said anything negative about these forums or the community once <3
Once can mean "at any time" or "one time only". I'm assuming that you mean the second, so you've never said anything negative about these forums or the community only one time, and all the other times you did, right?
@OP hopefully the DLC will be released when the DLC is done.

I'm not interested in weapon/armour packs but some people are. I hope it does bring in some cash so they have more to work with.
(But, I'm also not of the opinion that they cut weapons/armour from the game so they could sell it back. Much as I'd prefer follower outfits not to be fixed in RPGs, I think the whole "unique look" thing made sense in the context of the game. I'll be even less cynical after I get a coffee.)

I'm on my 3rd play through and my wife is on her 5th.
Interests: Missing years, what happened to the grey wardens, sequel.
Not interested in: More armour packs.
So far it takes us approx 45 hours to finish a game with all quests, and I swear that Judy is getting faster as she perfects her mage character.
So how are you (Bioware) forcing us to maintain interest with no new DLCs? Simple we went and found mods on DragonAge Nexus. Now we can equip our parties with armour (similar to Origins), download whole armouries of new weapons, and load magic and gameplay mods (override file). We are going to a site where mods are free.
At some stage, many people will lose interest in this game, which is a shame as the characters and gameplay are pretty good, regardless of the short playing time. I would suggest that an announcement concerning DLC should be in order, even if it is just to say that a planned release is X weeks away.
