Why Ammo powers?

Seriously, I think if you could use a modifer to give something more ummph, more than likely you would. I think this may come from players who rely on being a biotic rather than a solidier to use the character for comparison.
Why use Armor piercing ammo if you could penetrate an "appropriate" defense with Incenerate (which is also a kind of ammo power) or Warp? Many would resort to using powers anyway to erraticate the "Out of Ammo" (Normal or Specialized) problem.
However, some "biotics" like playing as a "soldiers" as well - not to mention that your Squadmates go the soldier route 99.9% of the time until Sheperd says to do otherwise. This is evident and unavoidable due to the cooldown.
In that case - especailly on Insanity, Ammo powers are most effective. Squad Armor Piercing although Miranda, Thane and I could Warp people all day long, while slower and inflicts more damage, spraying (SMGs for us) is somewhat faster (even if you may have to use your entire gun (or guns) though it inflicts less damage (ie: those sponge-soaking Scions)

Sometimes Cryo Ammo really doesn't fit into a biotic/berserker class.

I get that, but I didn't say use every little thing in the game either. As you can see, this thread's title sounds like it's against ammo powers and I brought up both arguments for and against them. Of the powers my character has, she doesn't have Cryo Ammo. Could it help, yes, but I don't use it because it's not effective for me - not because it's a bad/useless power. I use Warp about 99% percent of the time, but I don't thimk that the other biotic powers are useless.

Seriously, why is this still in the game? I've posted in numerous threads about how stupid this idea is and that all classes should have access to specialized ammo.

Different Omnitool models that non-tech classes don't get access to, or just never got because they never needed them. Why have Incinerate when you can just kill them with your gun? AGAIN, it's not a matter of Soldiers having "variety of useful powers", it's "those 'powers' should be available to everyone b/c it makes not a lick of sense otherwise" combined with "plenty of other options for Soldiers to have."Daiyus wrote...
Then why can't everyone use the Tech Powers available to Engineers and Infiltrators. That Stealth shield is just a bit of technology that can be turned off and on. The Drone is just a piece of tech. The only powersthat could actually be attributed to a cgharacter themselves are biotics, as not everyone does have access to them. It requires certain things to be done in the womb (for humans at least).
You have to accept that sometimes gameplay comes before Lore. In this I'm happy that Soldiers at least get a variety of useful powers. All ammo types linked with all weapons is actually quite powerful if you know what you're doing. I used to dislike this move after playing ME1 before ME2 was released, but I got used to the concept and now I'm fine with it.
