Garrus is talking more during the skirmishes with Cerberus in the EA demo with Jesse Houston than he typically did all game in ME2.

An exaggeration to be sure, but the point is that JeffZero likes what JeffZero hears.

There's a lot of banter. "They get any closer and this is going to be hand-to-hand!" Liara is talking a good bit as well. If the developers (and writers) can keep this up for the bulk of the game, color me bedazzled.

They should be quiet regardless. I'm their commanding officer... If I'd want their opinion, i'd give it to them.

Squad banter makes me happy, too.

YAY!

There's always a separate view point in this world.

Well too bad, I'm their commanding officer too and I like to hear them! So nyah! =]

I am very happy to have heard the banter they showed us. I also hope it continues en force throughout the rest of the game.

And the misogyny of the Mass Effect universe lives on....

Even though I was being sarcastic, I fail to see your point.

Combat taunts don't interest me. I want to see the squadmates debating the morality issues.

I agree. That was the first thing I latched onto. It would be nice to have squaddies seem like real people with opinions rather than just silent, brainless meat shields.

The banter kind of reminded me of the banter between Shepard and Liara in LotSB in ME2.

::blink:: Garrus is male, Liara is female. What does misogyny have to do with that comment?

Aye, party banter is one of those little things that makes a WORLD of difference. One thing Dragon Age has always had over the Mass Effect series. Mass Effect 1 had a little bit of banter, and ME2 only had just a TINY bit (but they were more like Easter Eggs, you had to have the exact right party members at the exact right time.)

I heard Garrus and Liara both, but I'm not sure it really seemed like they were talking to each other. When they do that I'll be happy.

I think you should look up the definition of misogyny and get back to us.

As a matter of fact, Liara is not female, since her species is mono-gender... Male and female means nothing to her people. She even says that in the original ME, on the Normandy.

Still, you are correct: His comment makes NO SENSE whatsoever.

How is that misogynist? At most, it's misanthropic, but it's honestly just military discipline.

She goes by 'she' and has babies. She may be monogendered, but that gender is female. /ot

Yeah, pretty confused about that misogyny bit. I'm all for equality and I'll fight for it whenever possible but I can't get behind called-out misogyny that just ain't there.

I'm just glad they're speaking. Nice to have actual characters instead of brainless cannons and meat shields.

Straight from the horse's mouth... Male or female have no real meaning; If you're interested, listen to her explanation on the subject.

Does JeffZero like the fact that JeffZero talks about JeffZero in third-person? ;)

But yeah, potentially more character banter is a great thing.
