Garrus is talking more during the skirmishes with Cerberus in the EA demo with Jesse Houston than he typically did all game in ME2.

I think you should look up the definition of misogyny and get back to us.

It's not much of a joke, you're just being strange and not making much sense. :/

No offense, but next time, consult a proper dictionary before throwing words around.

I agree they did not seem to be talking to each other... still, they were commenting on the situation quite a bit and that's always awesome =D

Alright, everyone, let's just stop, drop and roll back into the point of the topic.

So Garrus, right? Yeah, you were all like, "man, calibrations" but then he busted out with a solo album in the middle of a fight. Pretty impressive stuff.

Awww, I wasn't trying to pick on you buddy, just didn't understand what you were trying to say. You're odd, but I like you. =]

Squad banter is always good. Don't want to feel like Shepard is running around with mindless bullet sponges

I think it helps that they're having fewer squad members this time around. Fewer characters means more depth. Which is nice.

I noticed this too! they were suggesting ideas to take down the enemies...AWESOME! :D I love it being more interactive with each other. However....I noticed that whoever plays the demo seems to LOVE shooting at the d@mn shield even when its not doing damage....Seriously, use Liaras singularity or SOMETHING.

I dunno I was impressed overall with the interaction with the squad. The cutscene where Garrus smacks the guy in the back and Liara finishes him off almost dropped my jaw. We saw very little from allies working together in cutscenes. They were either in it because the mission involved them (loyalty missions) or they just laid down surpressing fire while Shepard did something cool.

I think they were trying to showcase how traditional "keep shooting!" tactics were less of an option against certain enemies. By showing off just how effective the shield is at stopping your bullets they can then do something like flank them and put them off balance, as an example of how you SHOULD have done it from the very start.

An exaggeration to be sure, but the point is that JeffZero likes what JeffZero hears.

There's a lot of banter. "They get any closer and this is going to be hand-to-hand!" Liara is talking a good bit as well. If the developers (and writers) can keep this up for the bulk of the game, color me bedazzled.

One big advantage to having a few core squad members and a lot of temporary squad members in set scence could well be a lot more banter. You wouldn't have to have to write banter lines for a dozen different voice actors for every scene in the game.

Very true and that's why I'm mostly okay with the whole shebang. Looking forward to the banter more than a lot of other things, really.

I wonder if Meer was standing in for Garrus, or if his VA just pulled back on the rowdy outlaw roars from ME2. He sounded more like Garrus in ME1.

I think they're using a lot of placeholder VO for their demos. Mordin didn't sound like Mordin, either.

I loved the banter that LoTSB had in it... and was happy to see in the demo that so far the squad mates seem to have a good amount of it... it really adds to the immersion to hear both squaddies and Shep actually shout back and forth during a fight.

I'm not sure why people keep saying that.

They've rebuilt the audio engine for ME3 and don't necessarily use the exact same VFX on each voice between games...Wrex in ME2 sounds noticeably different from ME1, and that's the final version of the game. The voices may not be placeholder at all.

Yet you can perfectly tell that the voice actor from the original ME is the same in ME2. The same CANNOT be said for Mordin.

I'm glad other people noticed that too. The game really needs tons more contextual commentary and this was a good sign.

Next up: in firefight banter.

To be fair IMO, seems like the first stage demo with Shepard greeting Mordin might've been a stand-in since Mordin had a faint British accent. All the other footage, though, sounded just like Mordin in ME2 IMO.

And apparently Keener had been in the recording booth a while ago, so he may just have toned down ME2 Garrus' total insanity when on the battlefield. He's clearly saving it all for the eventual Garrus: Year One flick by Frank Miller >_>

If there's one thing Dragon Age II got right it was the party banter. There was loads of it and it was quite enjoyable - I think it's something that a lot of critics picked up on in their reviews. Doing the same thing for Mass Effect 3 is a no brainer, I think.
