I saw where this problem had been solved earlier for someone else, however his solution didn't work for me. When I start the game on steam, the launcher pops up with the uninstall and play buttons are grayed out. All of my system specs are more then enough to run the game, I've uninstalled and reinstalled it twice. I've ran the system cache integrity vaildater multiple times. Each time it claims that one file is missing, and proceeds to redownload it. Seeing as how it does this every time, I'm guessing it doesn't actually redownload it. I've also tried different methods of updating steam itself, also without luck. Any help is much appreciated!

Sorry. Way too much missing data. Follow my guide and fill in the gaps, please (it's the pinned Sticky on the top starting off "Before anything else").
P. S. The guide to dealing with PC Tech problems suggests using the game archives as a resource. I think this is a common STEAM problem that you could use Steam's own forum's archives to search in.

In your case, you did offer some data (and it appears that you are running an antique PC that is below the requirements), but you need your own personal post, since the OP's question is still pending, and he / she hasn't expanded his report yet.Gorath Alpha wrote...

Looking at the three symbols under your profile image, it's the ME-2 game that should have given that old P4-D a very bad time. DA2 is actually easier on old hardware than DAO, as long as you accept lower quality settings and resolutions.
