Automatic Assault Rifles that don't suck

Not counting the Revenant(as I consider that a LMG), the Avenger, Collector, and GPR all leave me desiring more.
I want a fully auto assault rifle with a big clip of say 60-80 rounds, holding 600-800 total ammo, and while not being strong(otherwise it'd be totally OP) would leave me room to spray rooms clean.
Or a fully auto assault rifle with a normal say 40-50 round clip, 300-350 total ammo that is stronger than all of the ones we got in ME2?
I don't want to have to use the Mattock's semi auto firing or the Vindicator's burst firing(with nothing for ammo, really) just to have a strong weapon.
Maybe its just me, I don't know. I just want a better automatic assault rifle with a big clip. I'm a little tired of not being able to hold the trigger down to annihilate the competition.
Am I the only one with this opinion?

I'll be sticking with the Revenant as my AR either way, though.

Two terms that colloquially mean the same thing.

I know that magazine and clip are not interchangeable(yet often are used that way). I slip up sometimes.
But now I'm tempted to keep using clip when I mean magazine.

Mattock is certainly very powerful, but the avenger holds up ok.. it could use a small performance boost, but I've finished insanity using it as my primary and the gameplay wasn't all the noticeably more difficult because of it.

I play a Vanguard, so no Revenant for me. I refuse to mod my 360 games.
Its good that any class can use any weapon they want in ME3, so I'll just pick a fully auto AR then, but I just wanted to vent for a bit.

I Thought the Vindicator was pretty Awesome
Yeah, except its a burst rifle with a small MAGAZINE.
Doesn't even have a lot of ammo really, so personally I'd prefer other weapons over it. Definitely the Mattock. Which again, isn't automatic.
Which is my point. None of the automatic rifles are really really good. They're just there until you either use the Burst Rifle, Heavy Rifle, or in the case of a Soldier, the Light Machine Gun.

I thought the reason it didn't shine was because of balance issues instead of actual power. Especially when the mattock came out. Crazy overpowered it was.

I've seen it so much that it got boring. I really love the way the Collector AR looks, sounds, reloads, all that. I just wish it did more damage or at least had a bigger magazine(still gotta stop myself from saying clip).

You may want to look up the definition of "colloquial" before you rage like a child.

And you're mistaken in assuming that "clip" can be used as a colloquial term or reference for "magazine"... it cannot.
Apple is as much a colloquial term for Orange as clip is for magazine... in other words, they are not.
"Kid" is a colloquial term for child.
A clip is the metal.. well.. clip... that holds a string of bullets together. The magazine is what the clip is placed into.
Engine is not a colloquial for car, afterall, is it?

I'd like to get this thread to stay on the original subject without petty arguing over words when you KNOW what the real intent was.

<Clipped> (hurr)
In informal languange "clip" is used to describe the "place where the bullets go" all the time. It is a colloquialism. That the clip is actually the technical term for what holds a bundle of bullets inside the actual place where the bullets go is not mutually exclusive to it being a common term used by those who aren't gun enthusiasts.
Sorry, language is dynamic. Formal and informal verbage evolve independently as well as interdependently. Ask any linguist.
Anyway, I think the Avenger could either use a slight boost in damage or an increased clip size. On Insanity I found it fell short even with 100% of shots fired hitting their mark from close range (+50% damage I believe). The Vindicator, on the other hand, could potentially kill three enemies in a single Adrenaline Rush without reloading in between.

Fair enough.. but it's hard to keep one's mouth shut when you see someone take a word from the English language (i.e. colloquial) and not understand it's meaning... and then to take 2 completely separate objects and argue they are one and the same, when nothing could be further from the truth (it would be like aruging a fork is the same thing as a spoon.. they are both utensils, but one cannot be used as a colloquial term for the other).
Anyway back on topic... one thing I would like to see (well for the soldier.. which oddly, I don't play.. but nevertheless) is a new / additional light machine gun or heavy machine gun... I hope it isn't just the revenant coming back.. would be nice to have an alternate LMG too.

*Ahem*
We have ammunition blocks and thermal clips. Baseless pedantry is unimpressive. Now that that is sorted out, let intelligent comments pertinent to the OP commence.
I totally agree with you. When I fire the Geth pulse rifle, it feels like I am spraying bb's. We need a full auto assault rifle that hits like the mattock does. As overpowered as it is, I use it all the time because it just feels so much better than the other assault rifles. I would love a heavy hitting full auto AR.

As far as your suggestion goes, Hathur, I'd also support another LMG, but I love damn near any large automatic weaponry, so I'm a tad biased. I'd kind of like to see a blue LMG that is a newer model built specifically to take some of the Revenant's market share by some rival arms manufacturer. Perhaps it could have a tighter spread but a less frenzied rate of fire and a smaller clip. Better instant gratification, but less DPS for those heavy targets.

I ALWAYS prefer semi-auto firing. It's that 1:1 relationship between pulls of the trigger and brains being splattered. Each bullet can pack a punch and accuracy is consistent. It gives you the feeling of reaching out and touching enemies that you just don't get by laying on the bullet hose.
