Stupid creepy, obsessed Kalmancers, always coming out of the woodwork whenever Kal gets mentioned. I'm going to go have him get shot by a Colossus because I hate all of your opinions!!!

...Oh alright, I'll voice my opinion like a normal human being.

The guy in that screenshot isn't Kal'Reegar, and I don't care if he appears in ME3 or not because he doesn't get a free pass to be cool just because his voice actor was in Firefly and Chuck.

As others have said that isn't Kal, it's Han'Gerrel, Xen is also shown in that clip, someone got a pic of her. Most likely they are discussing taking Rannoch back.

He's not interesting. You can make interesting references to his actor, but he's not interesting with regards to the character itself. He's just a (...literal) red-shirt. He's simply an exposition tool during Tali's recruitment mission, and combined with Veetor a plot-device for a third option in Tali's trial to reward you for being a Paragon and sparing/protecting both of the Quarians.

Then again, I also don't mind if people care about Kal or not. It's just like... opinions man. People got to not hate so bad on others characters they like, but at the same time I really did want to point out that it's not actually Kal in that clip.

He's interesting to me because he's not Tali.

But that makes him inferior almost by default. Being Tali is one of the best things you CAN be in this game... unless you're Wrex. Or Garrus. Or Aria, because you don't **** with Aria.

He's interesting because he's a quarian soldier. He defies the 'planet of hats' descriptor of his people. It's why I liked Kirrahe.

Are you sure that's Kal?

He doesn't wear same environment suit.

Also why would random soldier be in conference room with Admirals?
Isn't this Qwib Qwib or new admiral that replaces Tali's father?

I like Kal for his never say live attitude. He already got his suit punctured and was still willing to sacrifice his life for everything unless you interrupted the dude with a paragon interrupt. The man's a trooper. Pun intended.

But that's what every single Quarian everywhere is willing to do. They're all about dying for the fleet, giving for the fleet, doing whatever they have to for the fleet even if it comes down to dying fanatically for their mission. (Or retaking Rannoch for the fleet. Or enslaving the geth... for the fleet. Well, Daro'Xen will most likely end up going power-hungry crazy and making the Geth under her personal control. 'Strength for Daro'Xen IS strength for Quarians!') Every other soldier on Haestrom died doing the same thing Kal'Reegar was trying to die for, he was just the last left alive.

If we're being picky about that, the only actual outlier from the Planet of Hats was Veetor, because instead of demonstrating the doing everything for the fleet trait he was just crazy, paranoid and easily frightened.

Although now that we're talking about Kal, there are positives too... the way he backs up Veetor when you Rally the Crowd and decides to stop taking **** from the Admiralty Board WAS in fact the crowning moment of his character in ME2. That part was actually not bad. He also showed signs of being against war with the Geth altogether, which might be nice if he turns out getting promoted to the Admiralty for ME3...

There's a bit of foreshadowing in the way he continues to emphasize "I'm just a soldier..." as if to be ironic to the fact that he won't be "Just a soldier." It'd be nice if he exists to be a swing vote for you to sway the board in ME3 if he survived ME2. Otherwise you could possibly get some new Quarian that is very set it his or her ways, instead of being someone that will listen to Shepard.
