I am playing through ME 1 & 2 for the zillionth time and a few things crossed my mind after seeing some ME 3 footage. I will try and list these in a discussion sense rather than a 'I want it this way why Bioware???' kind of sense like some of the other threads around here...
First, why has the radar gone away after ME 1? It was always there, it is helpful, and I used it incesently in the first game, but in ME 2 it only appeared if you held up the power wheel. From the footage of ME 3 shown, it isn't appearing while playing, and they haven't shown the wheel yet so I can only guess it will show up then. On a secondary note, a few times in ME 2, they would have objectives listed on top of the radar so you couldn't even see it, but in ME 1, whenever there was text by the radar it was clearly designed to be around it and not over top of it. A bit sloppy on that front in ME 2 imo
Second and more importantly, will the Reapers be given the awe-inspiring might Soveriegn had. When speaking with people on Eden Prime, they mention the piercing noise in their heads, and visually the red lightning around the Reaper is pretty cool. Will the Reapers do this in ME 3? Will Shepard have to fight for his sanity while battling the piercing indoctrination AND trying to kill Reapers? Hell, imo if Shepard never has to deal with indoctrination by the end of ME 3 I wil be disappointed, I think it would be a great and realistic story twist considering the general plot of ME 3. I have a strange feeling that the Reapers will become boss type battles, without the intense, one-sided, all encompassing destroyer Sovereign and the other Reapers were believed to be in the first two games.
Agree or dissagree? Thoughts? Discuss.

Regarding the Reapers, the developers have been incessantly tweeting about how awesome they sound in ME3. It's currently one of the hot hype machine talking points.

Radar was removed in ME2 because it was a resource hog (CPU or RAM) on the consoles (or lower end PCs). This was mentioned by a Bioware employee in the ME2 forums a few months ago if I recall... basically, they had to squeeze out a bit more performance to lock in at 30 frames per second on the Xbox, so they cut the radar out which was eating either some CPU processing or perhaps RAM.
Though you can still view the radar in ME2 by pausing.

I do understand the e3 footage is a long ways from final product, but the reapers didn't seem...insidious enough to me

You waited all of 18 minutes from your original post, to start complaining people werent respodning to your threads. Bear this in mind: people have other things to do than wait upon your every word.

I guess I had visions of a discussion with more people offering their opinions on the topic than unfortunate ****s making petty attempts at making fun of me
