Not sure if anyone has noticed, but some of the promotional pictures for ME3 have Shep in a more rounded version of the N7 Armor. I was always a fan of the first game armor, I thought the ME2 armor was a bit bulky.

So far in all of the game demos Shep is in the standard bulky N7 armor from Mass Effect 2, where as this one is a a bit more rounded, and much better looking:

I think his shoulderpads looks a bit odd though.

In the 2nd picture they look too bulky, ie the same as in ME2.

I like it. It has a very sleek, heroic feel to it.

I like the ME2 looking armor more. I don't like the ME3 armor's sharp angled shoulder pads, personally.

exactly, the problem is, there are no game shots of that style of armor. All of the demos at E3 are showing the sholder-pad suit.

I did like the customization of the suit in ME2 but it just never felt like "cool armor". I know with RPG's the important aspect is story, but it is also nice to have your character is bad arse looking armor.

One thing I'll note about the armor in the first pic vs the 2nd pic... the armor (at least the pauldrons) is in fact far closer to what hard shell armor would look like in the real world.

I speak of the angular aspect of it.. it has a sharp angular design... a key fundamental concept in armor plating design. A sloped sheet of armor has greater ablative properties than flat or rounded armor plating (though rounded armor plating still has greater ablative properties than flat plating).

While Mass Effect is a far cry from realism, the armor (the pauldrons at least) shown in the first picture are far more believable as real armor.. and thus receives my endorsement over the 2nd one.

Now you know.

And knowing is half the battle.

I just hope they put the armor from the first shot in the game as the 'default' armor. So far there are no in-game screen shots showing anything other then ME2's armor.

I have a few thoughts:
The rig: I think it would be nice to have class specific armour style - its structure - eg bulky for soldiers, sleek for biotics, survival-like for infiltrators and so on. Everyone of them customizable of course.
Is this the time to return to Collapsable Helmets Topic? :)

I would cry tears of pure joy if that would be the case. :crying:<3
