What do you think Ms. Thanoptis will be doing in ME3?

Granted you didn't gun her down with indiscriminate justice or scratch your trigger finger on Korlus, just got that vindicator rifle and needed to see how it matched up with asari physiology.

She always seems to be involved with genophage research, or research tangentially related to the genophage in some way...maybe we'll see her when we're storming the castle to save the krogan princess?

Maybe you find her working on a cure for the genophage (if you go that route).

Well if Conrad Verner is going to be in it, then it would seem silly for Rana not to considering how you can avoid Conrad in ME but can't avoid Rana. I think in both games IIRC at least 1 squadmate has pondered on whether it was a good idea letting her go, so be interesting to see if she does come to something in ME3, but if she does it'll be something minimal I imagine seeing as they didn't class her as a 'choice' in the comic.

Well, in the first game she was studying the effects of indoctrination. In the second, she is assisting Warlord Okeer in his cloning of krogans to create gruntfection.
So, in the third she could be in something different. Hopefully she is doing something good, I don't want to wait until next March to find out I have to bust a cap.

Aren't there like six choices in the comic? At least that is what I heard. Pretty sure canon from ME1 spared her life. Now we just have to wait to see what canon in ME2 will be.

If Mordin is altering the genophage in ME3 I like to imagine that you can get Rana to help him.

The asari from Saren's lab on Virmire, who just barely escaped in a shuttle before you nuked it. Assuming you didn't kill her. Later turns up in Okeer's lab, freaks out and runs away fearing you'll blow that place too.
