What determines critical chance? Is it just weapon choice and bonuses from certain abilities and items?

Thanks

Party members (except the Warden) start off with 3% critical chance (although there are some mods which fix this bug, I use the Dragon Age Rules Fixpack), then you add the weapon's base critical modifier, then any weapon bonuses and talents such as Aim, Song of Courage, and Rock Mastery.

It doesn't seem to take character attributes into account at all.

If you play without mods, crit chance is mostly determined by weapons and talents. It also depends somewhat on how the buffs are stacked. For instance, I have to turn on Aim before I turn on Leliana's Song of Courage. Otherwise, the bonus to crit chance that comes with the Song will not stack on top of Aim. The order in which the talents are turned on can make a fairly big difference.

Just on a side note, I have noticed that armor set bonuses have a way of disappearing sometimes, for no apparent reason. I have to re-equip the armor to get the bonus to show up. Can be quite a substantial difference there, as well.
