As it is listed under "also includes" and has no "exclusive" in it, i would guess that this is common DLC.

Just because the dlc is called the Prothean, doesn't mean the squadmember will be one. And it can't alter the main game too much, because, well, it's just a dlc.

It's Prothy the Prothean Squad Member! It gender-changes at command, can be romanced by both genders and has the unique CQC attack of strangling and/or invading the facial orifices of its opponents with its face tentacles. It comes with the special ability of placing stationary beehive barriers on the battlefield (similiarly to the Collectors) to deflect bullets, missiles and biotic attacks that functions like temporary cover. It's class is "Prothean Survivor" and it can use pistols, SMG's and assault rifles.

As I've stated in other threads (like the Prothean discussion thread) I believe that the "mistake" was revealing this info waaay too early.
I also believe we might have gotten our first glimpse at him/her/it with this picture:
Since we have an alien looking figure that seems to be in the fetal position while in a stasis bubble.

Nah, in the video yesterday it was confirmed that the Biotic God won't be a teammate for ME3 since "he couldn't get ready in time."
