That's a volus. Its the rebirth of the Biotic Wind.

Nah, in the video yesterday it was confirmed that the Biotic God won't be a teammate for ME3 since "he couldn't get ready in time."

I wouldn't want that volus from ME2 in my party. The guy is a bumbling idiot.

He's probably still napping.

As I've stated in other threads (like the Prothean discussion thread) I believe that the "mistake" was revealing this info waaay too early.

I also believe we might have gotten our first glimpse at him/her/it with this picture:

Image IPB

Since we have an alien looking figure that seems to be in the fetal position while in a stasis bubble.

if nothing else, it's an eerily similar globe to the one in the hammerhead dlc for ME2...

Yup and this one has somebody in the middle of it!

Some people have guessed that the relic you found actually might already contain the Prothean due to its size changing nature. It would be sort of ironic that you were hauling him/her/it for almost a year before finding out what it really was.

How do I know that is an actual ME3 picture?

I'm actually happy this turns out to be false. How am I supposed to keep Liara for myself when there's a prothean on board...What with Liara's prothean obsession...

@Mass

True. The protheans are dead and gone, let's leave it at that.

I don't know, with the the thing you get from the consort in ME1 you find out that the Prothean's studyed ancent humans from mars. If the last galactic extinctions cycle was "when mammals where taking their first steps on earth" (TIM) then some had to survive the Reapers, possibly waiting to aid in the next cycle?

That would truly suck, because mine has bugged out everytime I've tryed to finish that questline. Multiple re-downloads and I even bought a new game to try and finish it. No dice...

This is just a guess from TIM, explaining this reaper was taken out so long ago, humans can't imagine it's age. It's because Shepard can't believe something could take out a reaper, TIM states the reaper has been there for 36 million years and so we have no idea what kind of civilisation existed back then, or what level of technology they had. We all know the last cycle was 50.000 (according to that volus from the citadel more like 48000 years) ago. So it's highly unlikely any of those species (no matter if they were in stasis or not) have survived.

To be quite honest: I think it adds to the mystique of the protheans that they were this fancy,  highly advanced race that were destroyed by the reapers but not before giving us a fighting chance. I'd rather not see this image wasted by there suddenly being a prothean survivor that HAPPENS to be one of the top researches of the prothean era. And just HAPPENS to know how to defeat the reapers. I'm all for a big plot twist, but not like this.... This is what I'd call 'cheesy'.

I don't believe that anyone from Bioware ever mentioned a prothean squadmate DLC, that was something that was a rumor that came up in the forums and spread like wildfire, the text error on the advertisment mentioned an additional character and mission but never said anything about it being a prothean.  Thats the problem with wild speculation, I don't believe anything that is posted on this forum unless it comes from a Bioware employee, or believe anything that comes from an outside source, unless Bioware specifically confirms it.  90% of everything on here is speculation and BS, so don't believe it unless it comes from Bioware or unless someone can produce a link to an interview with someone from Bioware.

Before Chris took down the text the downloadable character had the title "The Prothean". He said it was a mistake that the text was up. He never said that the mistake was the character didn't exist or that the announcement was too early. He never outright stated: "There will be no Prothean character in ME3."

Considering how they treated Kasumi I am leaning towards the latter.

In the original CE topic there was an image that said: DLC "The Prothean" (Mission/Character) or something along those lines. It is by no means a confirmation, especially since it was called a typo and editted out a few minutes later. Even if the mission still exists as a DLC, there is no guarantee that the squadmate is a Prothean.

i thinik everyone knows that there WILL be prothean DLC character, and that this was yet another serious blunder, thus ruining the surprise. Hence the "oh yeah it was a type error". how does one accidently type Prothean?

Try to type/write something when you're thinking of something completely different. Or type something and mess around in it, fixing typos and altering layout. You'll be surprised at what you can write down without meaning it.

@ Thargorichiban & Zanallen - Ok I stand corrected, thank-you for pointing that out, I wasn't aware that a prothean had ever been mentioned.

But I still stand by the idea of specualting about whats going to be in ME3, with 9 months to go before release its a little premature to speculate on whats going to be in the game or available as a DLC at this point, to many things can change, as we have seen already seen. I know its fun to try to figure it out but I would wait till closer to release date.

Bioware be trollin? Nah.

I'd like that actually.

I feel the same. All I'm saying is I think they have some wiggle room in the lore, so it could happen
