I think they said there was going to be a heavy melee attack. Think charged attack. I think that is the omni-blade, omni-pawnch, omni-flamethrower, biotic blast, etc. The soft or regular melee attack would be the like the pistol whip combo that Shepard pulls off.

I believe that this was stated to be the Sentinel's melee attack but that they were still tweaking it.

shield can work the same way i guess as i said if it uses photonic energy

I know they've said that that footage is a work-in-progress sort of situation but I hope they keep that pistol whip stuff in there, looked amazing!
