So since the Soldier has a frag grenade, might the Infiltrator have a smoke screen grenade?

Honestly, the new CQC features are going to revolutionise the CQC Infiltrator, you can already stealth kill with a Soldier, imagine what a cloaked Infiltrator can do...but anyway, it would be cool if the Infiltrator got a smoke screen grenade as one of his 'powers'.

Anyone else seeing this?

I can imagine it pretty well. Grenades are making a comeback and they for sure aren't a soldier only item (Garrus got proximity mines, maybe Liara's "Lift orbs" are something similar). It would suit the infiltrator's playstyle nicely.

And possibly, the Adept could have a Singularity Grenade. These different types of grenades would change the way we play Mass Effect. I like your idea, maybe it could stun them or confuse them, too.

Flashbangs that actually acted like flashbangs would be good, too.

Liara's Lift Orb power is probably what it say in the name:
Basically mines laid out and when a target is hit or near a mine, all gravity goes to hell.

Vanguards should have grenades that charge themselves into the enemies' spleen(s).

Better yet, Vanguards should explode upon charging an enemy. Let them be the grenade.

Then engineers might get some sort of EMP-grenade.

^ Vanguards are their own concussion grenade. Charge in, stun everyone in a certain radius, then lash out with omniblade.

Why would Infiltrator need a smoke grenade when he has a cloaking device?

I'd much rather like if we could choose what kind of grenade we will carry. Like EMP grenades, incendiary grenades, stun grenades, etc etc.

Infiltrator is my favorite playthrough of ME2 because of that tactical cloak. (Smoke grenade, tactical cloak and omi-blade your opponent)=COOL.

I don't think so. Based on the info, I bet the Engineer's grenade is the 'Build Turret' option...

If I recall correctly, I saw some sort of smoke grenade in one of the demos when Shepard was on Sur'Kesh fighting Cerberus. Although it could have just been a lot of smoke from a landing drop shuttle, I thought it was a smoke grenade.

EDIT:  I found the video and confirmed it was a smoke grenade, although I'm not sure if Shepard and squad used it or Cerberus used it.

   it happens right at 1:30

No the Cerberus troops (one type of them) dropped smoke grenades.

If I had to guess I'd say that each class has a unique grenade, with Lift Orb being the Adept's and Proximity Mine possibly the Infiltrator's.

We can only speculate for now, but you can see that Liara's Lift Orb has number on it like Shepard's Frag Grenade which seems to indicate limited quantity. Garrus' Proximity Mine don't have a number attached though. This could be a bug going both ways, or it could be what it seems like.

It would still be cool if Shepard had a smoke grenade.

personally i'd like to be able to pick my grenade.

maybe i wanna use a frag grenade, or a emp grenade, or cryo grenade, ect. it'd be cool if i can pick the type before each mission.

Cryo grenade is an interesting idea as well...

What intrigued me most about the grenades is that they didn't seem to have a cooldown. If squadmate grenades function similarly, it will be a lot easier to get out of sticky situations that arise when everyone is on cooldown.

Unless you have some kind of thermal vision device (or scope), smoke grenades really aren't all that handy. I'd much rather have flash grenades otherwise.

Very happy to see all the new character skill information, and the weapon customization, but just want to say one thing.. can we please let Adepts keep using biotics without resorting to grenades. In other words, seeing as my Shep has always been able to Lift (or Pull.. up) enemies, can he be left doing that without having to use a 'Lift Orb', if that is a biotic grenade?

In-universe, a cloaking device would need to recharge. Grenades would only need to be thrown.

I liked those! Too bad it glitched after my first playthrough. Anyone know how to fix the flashbang? Never works anymore when I throw it.

Why? So he can blind himself? I play infiltrator and I can't really see the use in it, maybe it could be used for flanking when there isn't any side cover, but that's about it, and besides, snipers don't flank.

I see far more use in a proximity mine personally, or maybe some kind of decoy used to draw enemies out of cover.

You can also run out of said grenades...
