Hey guys, this might be the dumbest question/post of the century, but here's my dilemma...
I'm playing a level 17 human rogue, I've successfully unlocked duelist and assassin for my character (even got the little notification "______ has been unlocked" or whatever), yet neither one of those specializations is showing up on my talent menu at all (preventing me from putting points into them). The only catagorys i'm able to put points into are "Rogue" "Duel Wield" and "Archery"... Duelist has been unlocked since for about 10 levels (unlocked it at the naughty house) and Assassin has been unlocked for about 2 levels (got the assasin to agree to teach me).
Am I just missing something blatently obvious here? I've gone through just about everything to see if I missed something, and I've looked all over the place online...
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
TY all, and I still love the game lol, just hoping this isnt a bug and that i havent wasted tons of time on a character...

In the first screen where you pick up Stat points there is also Specializations on the left, check if you have already picked yours, only after that you get Talents corresponding to your chosen specialization.

Yeah, I got this too. I didnt win the card game, I chose... err.... the "other" option. But yeah, I got the specialization unlocked message, leveled up, and it was still locked to me. Went back to talk to her, but the NPC was gone. It was a major bummer, because the duelist was the class I was building around...

Nabu was right! When you level up, on the first screen that it takes you to (the one to put points into strength, dext, willpower, etc...) above the attribute points section is your class specialization section. Just arrow up to it and choose whichever one you want that you've unlocked (this can only be done when you level up though). I feel really dumb for not noticing that for like 10 levels lol.

Well, I played the game mostly through again and did the card game option this time. The specialization has unlocked this time around, so no harm done. I'll just have to replay a rogue again; a prospect I am certainly not opposed to!

I am having a similar problem in that I have gotten the specialization unlocked message for a few different specializations yet cannot use them.
For example, my PC is an arcane warrior yet when Wynne got a specialization point it still showed the arcane warrior as locked.
Also I unlocked the duelist via the card game yet it still shows locked for Leliana and on a new rogue character.
Oddly enough though the bard, that leliana taught me, and the ranger (for which I bought the book) were unlocked on a new character.
I am playing on the PS3. Other than trying to unlock them again on a new character can anyone give any insight.
This is still my first playthrough.
