I don't know if it's too early for this kind of thread, since there's still 9 months before release, but I think it's ok to discuss about this.
We know that ME2 weapons will return in ME3. My question is, will the dlc weapon return in ME3 if we didn't download the dlc?. Because I don't want to spend money for the Firepower Pack (though I know that the Mattock, the Phalanx and the Geth Pulse Shotgun are great), and I'd prefer to but only some story dlc (LOTSB, Kasumi, and maybe Overlord and Arrival, if I have enough money to spend). In the ME3 Earth demo I saw that Shepard picked up the Mattock, so maybe the weapons will return even if people haven't downloaded the dlc, but I really like that some Bioware devs could respond on this matter.

Way I understood it, you'll only get the guns you actually have in DLC form. That's fine with me, I already bought it all. It's nice to know that I'll be getting twice my money's worth now.

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully a dev could clarify that point. (because in the demo shepard gets the Mattock from an enemy, maybe there will be another weapon there?). I f we'll get in ME3 only the weapons that we've got in at the end of our ME2 playthrough, this will means that a lot of people can't get the Revenant and the Widow. Maybe the weapons that are present in ME2 will be available for everyone in ME3 (so people that played ad Biotic can get the Widow and the Revenant), and the dlc weapons are exclusive for people that bought that dlc. But this means that new players can't get them too.

I think you'll get the ME2 DLC weapons, regardless of whether or not you bought the DLCs... otherwise they wouldn't have shown the weapons in the demo. also, it's very unlikely Cerberus won't use any means necessary to bring you down, and this comes down to the best weapns they provided you in the past (there's only 1 DLC weapon as far as I know that's story dependent - The locust, all the oters are acquired directly from Cerberus)
so, yeah, expect ME2 DLC weapons to be standard issues in ME3:D

What about armors? Like the Dr. Pepper visors, collector armor, etc?

Dr Pepper has an agreement for ME3 so it might mean that you'll have to collect codes for them and new ones all over again...

Im betting the Mattock is for everyone in Me3. Heck, the eviscerator and the Mattock are main weapons of the Cerberus troopers. So we will have those guns if we can pick them up.

We couldn't pick up weapons in ME2, they did away with that, along with the inventory.

I guess I should clarify, we didn't get to pick up weapons at random

you may be right but in the demo where shepard is with anderson, Shepard picks up a mattock.  but you're right it might not be random.  It would seem silly to not use weapons that your enemies are using against you unless you buy a dlc.

yeah, im guessing all main ME2 weapons regardless of DLC status will be in default ME3. exceptions probably being the collector rifle, and maybe the geth weapons, since they're pretty exotic.

though after the game comes out i bet they'll come up with another weapons pack with new weapons.

In the Mass Effect 3 wikia it states: "All weapons that the player ACQUIRED in Mass Effect 2 will be available, including downloadable firearms, such as the M-96 Mattock."

Its safer to assume if you didn't acquire it in ME2, you wont have it when u start ME3.
However my issue lies with the Unique Weapons from the Advanced Weapons Training in ME2: the M-300 Claymore, M-98 Widow, and the M-76 Revenant

For example if im a Vanguard, and choose the Assault Rifles option instead of the Claymore, could i still use the Claymore in ME3? If i cant it would be extremely unfair due to the fact that you could use all weapon types in ME3 anyway, therefore making the ARs option choice in ME2 obsolete in ME3, since all it does is prevent me from using the Claymore.

I hope a Dev could specifically answer this please.

Edit: Then again, you can get the Claymore for Grunt and the Widow for Legion...However you didnt acquire it for Shepard. PLEASE BIOWARE an official specific answer for this somewhat minor issue would be greatly appreciated:D
