I finally picked up Overlord and Arrival after getting some pts... and I have a quick question.... does Post SM DLC save and carry into ME3?

I wanted to do the vanilla ME2 game up past the SM, then do LOTSB, Overlord and Arrival.....but how do I save it? Will it save?

yes, decisions made in post game dlc will likely carry over into ME3 (though i think some will only be mentioned or have only a minor effect)

at least DLC from ME2 carried over. and it has been confirmed any ME2 save file *completed without shep dieing) can be imported

The only difference between pre-SM game and post-SM is "game finished" flag in save files.

crap... so if its not flagged it won't count? I know LOTSB has diff dialogue post and pre sm....

I'm 99% positive it will count if played post suicide mission. It would be a very strange decision not to.

A deve mentioned somewhere (can't find the post now) basically any save that is importable for ME2 New Game+ will be importable for ME3.

Note both Shadow Broker and Arrival DLCs don't let you make any big decisions, so the events will likely be considered canon.

Not completely convinced by this. In arrival you talk to Hackett and can state you will turn yourself in or not. This could be the difference between turning yourself in or being captured. There are all sorts of possibilities with LotSB, all those investment opportunities/covert missions you can fund through Liara that could have dramatic effects on the story. I'm not saying things like this will be in ME3, but if the devs are looking to bring more stuff in there is planty of material.
