Looking at this I wonder if Bioware are doing an Alpha Protocol-esque approach to Missions.
For example the "Downed Vessel" Mission as shown in the above image, Shepard could find a High Ranking Officer among the survivors, who could be commander of an orbiting ship and rescue him. Doing so would mean for the next mission, you would get orbital fire support for the next mission, making said mission easier for the player.

What do you guys think?

It's a great idea but this sort of stuff will probably be heavily scripted and restrictedto important NPCs like hacket, Anderson and udina etc.
