I think the use of interactive media for the guys unwilling
to subdue three weeks of their lives (such ungratitude...)
to play the previous two games is an elegant and engaging way
to help them catch up with the story while lettiing them decide on key factors.

Of course, if there was to be a Genesis part 2, it will be ionger to incorporate
all the key decisions (it's unlikely a comic long enough to inculde all branching events,
that would be determined by the default story setting).

any ideas what "key events" should be?
and how would you have designed the suicide mission segment?

There's already been confirmed to be a comic in the beginning of ME3

The reason why I'll never use the comic, and always use the Save editor is because little sidequests don't get tracked at all by Genesis, it just acts like you skipped them altogether. I don't want to miss any content

Essentially, this is the 3rd game in the trilogy, the game where most new comers are going to think, "Gah, I can't play that, I'll have to play the first two as well, bah too much work" so logically, BioWare as a company that makes a product and needs to make money, they want to make sure as hell that new players won't feel cheated on content, which is why during E3, casey hudson said about a billion times that "There's never been a better time to jump into the trilogy....the galaxy is at war"

Didn't Casey say today that there's a way to make decisions from previous games but that they haven't figured out the specifics? It might as well be an animation, or other form of cutscene.

Well, nearly a year away from release, the feature could change quite a bit, but it is confirmed that that feature will be included for new players and gamers who don't have access to ME1. (PS3 players)

you can't force someone to watch 20 min or so of what he didn't play, they'll walk away eventually.
the comic, as i said, had a MUCH more engaging manner then the narrated 5min recap of Mass Effect.

Engaging? It made me facepalm.

Sure new players are just fine with it, but that is what annoys me so much. Have you seen wrex in the comic? Did you read how they distorted certain story decisions in the game? (Rachni queen comesto mind)

I'm all for bringing new players up to speed, I jus wish they would do it right and true to the source material.
