Hey, I'm wondering if ME3 will be region-free or not?

I've got PAL editions for Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2, I think, and I've heard that ME1 was region-free, but ME2 was region-locked. Anyway, I'm wondering because the reason I delayed my getting the special edition of Dead Space 2 was because or the apparent inability to pre-order anything in Ireland's GameStops, because they just totally suck.

I checked Amazon.co.uk (where I would get  PAL edition, if it is region-locked), but can only find the regular edition of Mass Effect 3. But on Amazon.com, the Collectors' edition already available for pre-order. I'm considering buying it from here, but then I might have to pay import taxes like I did for Left 4 Dead 2, and that would just terribly. In addition, I mightn't even be able to play it because of the region codes.

So, yeah. Will it be region-free, or perhaps somebody would know when will (if at all) it be coming to the UK Amazon?

Help would be much appreciated here. Thanks in advance.

Yeah man i know the feeling but Game.co.uk do actually have the collectors edition if your stuck, I'm from Ireland too and have the same problem, iv checked Game and Gamestop and even HMV on the off chance that they might have it but none of them do!! Online though the Game site actually has it available, hope this helped man:)

beacause i have an NTSC-J xbox 360 and i can play a PAL mass effect 2
besides the first 2 was region free why would the third one be locked plus ive never seen a locked region game from EA in 2010 like crysis 2 its free dead space 2 is free.

I ve got an asia xbox 360 and i can play a PAL mass effect 2 you think im lying no this is true
my cousin from AUS. got me a PAL mass effect 2 and i can play it . it works just like the first one. so the third one has to be region free like the first 2 right

Just because you can play it somewhere, doesn't mean it'll work somewhere else. Have you used it in every country in the world perhaps? I thought so.

It's not that easy. There are a lot of permits, regulations and restrictions on sales when it comes to this. They figure it's not worth the hassle for a few extra thousands.

Not unless you're planning on getting it for the PS3 (every PS3 game is region-free).
