It wasen't mentioned (or at least I didn't hear it mention) that it was kinect only or anything, but I'm not sure.
Did I just miss something?
Thanks in advance if you have the answer.

Given that Microsoft released the Kinect SDK for Windows, it would really lame of them if they limit Kinect games to just the XB360.
Maybe...but should they put in the resources necessary for this? Although I am one of them and would like to have the voice commands on PC, the amount of people who play the game on PC AND have Kinect is rather low. You have to consider that if you commit resources to one feature, another may have to be dismissed.

LOL Microsoft isn't making the Kinect for PC. They just released the SDK so you could make it work for PC, know a lot of PC gamers that want to jump up and down and wave their arms in front of their 22" computer screen do ya.......

True but think of it this way, it'll encourage more people to buy a Kinect -- you know, given that ME3 will likely be a hit, people tend to go nuts and buy these extras.

From what I hear the voice recognition is processed directly on the Kinect, so it's not all about the motion sensor. Besides, I'm sure there's plenty of console owners out there who own a PC too.
Quite frankly, I'd prefer they just add regular voice control support via standard USB mike... I mean how much processing power does voice recognition cost anyway? Very little.

The only reason voice commands make any sense on PC is for accessibility toward disabled/handicapped players. And I think gaming as a whole has not addressed that issue much-but that is another topic for another day.

It can allow player to give command for squad members in combat with voice, what can make gameplay impression better.
I my self have no use for it, because security & privacy reason I never connect microphone or camera to any device what is connected to internet.

In one of the interviews, I think the dev's explained that Kinect does all the voice recognition on it's own. So they don't have to program any voice rec code on the disc or use any cpu/ram resource or spend dev time/money on the feature. Which would lead me to believe the VR will be Kinect only.
yes but kinect can also be connected to pc via usb.
so in the end its not about kinect but its about micro$oft .

I've read in a Dutch game magazine that Microsoft will release Kinect for PC later this year. That means that Mass Effect 3 for PC might also come with Kinect support.
micro$oft wont need to release a different kinect for pc unless it has more features than the one for xbox.
i say that because micro$oft has already released official kinect drivers+JDK for pc.

Now the kinect software is coming to PC...my guess is that there will be a DLC patch that we'll have to pay $5.99 for that will allow us to use voice recognition if we have the kinect-for-pc thing installed.

You know, I don't have a problem with that at all... as long as they don't release it MONTHS after everyone's played the damn game!!

If PC were to use voice commands through a microphone, Bioware would have to create their own voice recognition software.

he/she will have the chance to explore a great variety of functions. on of which is combining simple or complex input with voice commands. this said, any geek can make command sets for ME1 and ME2 for a few things.
a simple simple example to make a test,is to use squad commands in ME2 with a standart combo of 2 squadmates and use their quick commands to combine the specified button with voice commands.
kinect is doable even with the already existing devise.
its all up to Bioware and Microsoft to agree weather its going to be featured on pc version of ME3 or not.
i have no idea if they will ever do that, but if you think about it, XBox360 players don't have much more to be happier than PC gamers than just a few exclusive game titles. kinect is one more way for microsoft to not lose their customers easily.
