Permanent death for squadmates and Shepard

It would probably require much different squad AI. For this to work, I think your squadmates would have to play very conservatively and only move/attack/use skills when you order them to (somewhat like Rainbow 6).

It's not something I'd do myself, since it only takes a stroke of bad luck or a bug, and you're sent crashing back to square one.

It's moronic. It's pointless. The point of screwing up and dying is learning from your mistakes. How are you going to do that if some idiotic tryhard mode forces you to end your game permanently? And don't even get me started on how stupid it'd be to have permadeath for squadmates in a game where each squadmate has enough dialogue and content (and plot-relevance, in some cases) to fill a novel.
Okay, rant over. That was my opinion. Sorry if I came in too strong.

While you could probably do that to revive a squamate, if you died, the save would be invalidated, as in The Witcher 2.

What would you have to say about Diablo 2 Hardcore or The Witcher 2 Insane? Those both have Permanent Death. Such a difficulty mode would only be designed for the most serious players. The point of such difficulty modes is to test your skill by pressuring you to not make mistakes. Are either of those games difficulty modes "moronic" and "pointless?"

That's most idiotic I have ever heart. What's the point of it?

Yikes, yeah no thanks! I play to have fun, not to rip my hair out and throw my console/computer out the window.

I don't think you really read the post, nor do you understand what "permanent death" means or why it exists. This would be for a diffulty move above insanity, the purpose of which is the be the ultimate test for the skilled gamer - someone who is ready to take the ultimate challenge.
