Since thats my prefered method of buying games since life is easy when PC's die, you just log in and download again rather than have to hunt for DVD's but i don't see it mentioned on steam.

Will the collecters edition be available in the UK? Since at the moment i can't find it on amazon uk either :(

i see no meaning about the collectors edition of any game in Steam.
Steam offers DIGITAL material.
Collectors editions have always about getting some stuff in a box :P

what is more possible is to have the digital delux edition on Steam.

The Collectors Edition is only available at GAME for a lovely £69.99 or Gamestation at £59.99, so far.

Which is, in my opinion, daylight robbery.

It is my understanding that Steam typically lists upcoming games much closer to the release date-- maybe month or a few weeks before.

I'm pretty sure ME3 wont be on Steam at all, I think it's been said that EA are keeping digital purchases of the game exclusive to their new steam-esque service, the name of which escapes me at the moment.
As for the collectors edition, I think I read somewhere else that Game in the UK is accepting pre-orders for it, dunno about amazon.

Someone contacted Amazon.co.uk, and all they said was "that it wasn't on their records, but keep checking as stock is updated frequently", so basically they don't know... :/

Be a shame if its not on steam since i was first tempted to get ME1 from a steam deal and own ME2 the same way

If this is true.............................
I'll still buy the game.

Dunno but considering its available for pre-order else where i'm sure the peeps at bioware that organise such stuff will have decided whether it will or will not be available.

So other than an attempt at a wise crack do you actually know anything?

From what Ive seen so far, the digital Collectors/Deluxe version of ME3 is going to be Origin exclusive.

It will probably be a repeat of the DA2 Steam fiasco. Delay and don't comment until just about the last minute, then drop a standard digital version with no frills.

Yes, I think you are right. At least it makes more sense then DA2 – They are trying to force people to use Origin

The Digital Deluxe Edition of Mass Effect 3 will be exclusive to EA's new digital service called Origin.  The bog standard edition of Mass Effect 3 will be available from other digital retailers.  How do I know this ? because you can pre-order ME 3 from DD sites like Direct2Drive.  I have no doubt that closer to the release date you will be able to buy Mass Effect 3 from steam but if you want the Digital Deluxe Edition then you will either have to a) buy the Collectors Edition retail or B) buy the DDE version from Origin.

ME3 will most likely NOT be available on steam. If you guys have read what has happened with Battlefield 3, then that is exactly what will happen with ME3, EA will pull the game from steam so they can have their own DD program (Origin) run it. . . . which is a load of bs imo. EA just wants more money (i.e. buying ME3 through Origin). . . . sigh, and i was looking forward to ME3 too :(

Its a shame because I have Mass Effect 1 & 2 (Digital Deluxe edition) from Steam, and I'd like to stay consistent. It would be a shame if it wasn't available at all. I can live without the digital deluxe version.

Oh come on - no matter how much we may bleat, we all know that we will line up to enter the Origin pen, when the shepherd comes calling. :P

( Both the DAs and ME2 involved one of those annoying ¤#!% procedures of creating an account on- and logging into a second service, in addition to Steam, if one bought it there, anyway... )

No way. Im buying normal DVD version. And If it needs new accounts again I might start to pirate games again. Managing 100s of accounts you have to create over years is getting stupid.

As much as I'd like to see it on Steam, I think it will be an Origin only release.

Until EA and Valve stop bickering Mass Effect 3 won't be on Steam, this can change since its seven months away, but both seem to be holding steadfast in their DLC policies. The standard version is probably going to be available digitally on places besides Steam, but the digital deluxe version has been announced to be exclusive to Origin.

I think it is highly unlikely that ME3 will be on Steam.

Since DA:O, ME2, and DA2 had the same kind of DLC management for the PC versions (though the "Your Registered Game Content" bar on your Social Account here), we can expect ME3 to have the same system, and that was the reason that DA2 got kicked out when Legacy was released since EA doesn't want Steam to handle their DLC; I don't think that they'll let ME3 on Steam without the DLC issue being resolved.

EA has repeatedly said that they want to handle the DLC themselves, not by Steam, and by this reason, I don't think that we'll see ME3 on Steam (unless some sort of compromise is reached).

Get your Origin accounts ready, because ME3 is coming to town, and only this town.

Then I can only applaud your resolve - much in the spirit of Jim Sterling's recent rant about the devaluation of the word "boycott".

Yes, I'm quite convinced, that your brick-and-mortar retail copy (...or Direct2drive, or whatever) will still require an Origin account, for authentication and after-sales service, whether it is as apparent as Steam, or not.

( On the multiple accounts thing, /me had some of that only the other day, with from Dust, which I got through Steam, but which on top of that (for two more weeks, at least) requires UBI's own always-on DRM/service framework and before that it was Fable3, which, on top of Steam, forced me to get a GFWL account -- massive annoyance - pirates certainly always appear to get the better deal.)

As for Steam and EA: Valve's big guy has, as always, coughed up a impeccably gracious statement, that it's simply up to his company to prove to EA that it is better value for them to outsource to Steam, than to manage their own farm, both in terms of services and market proliferation. We'll see how that goes. :7

Oh you mean the thing where valve won't let it on there at this point because they aren't getting to dig into Ea's longer standing policy on DLC and get paid themselves for all of EA's extra content?

And your logging into these forums people. That's the only account you should need. So unless you make a different account  each time you get a new one of these games to have them all seperate then you don't need another account.  At least from everything I can see on the origion pages so far.

As excited as i am for Mass Effect 3, if it comes to origin only i will do as i plan with battlefield 3, and simply ignore it. The dispute between EA and Valve or specifically their digital distribution platforms Origin and Steam respectively is utterly ridiculous. I could understand EA's desire to compete if origin were anything close to Steam, but it is NOT a standalone client, (I'm referencing its need to launch through a web browser) and In addition to that I have no respect for the fact that it starts scanning your computer for pre-installed games BEFORE you even accept the EULA. Seeing as most if not all EULAs are at least by US standards "illegal" anyway... (Thats a different arguement, and I do not care to get into it) At any rate I'm sorry EA, but if you cannot reconcile your differences you wont be seeing any more of my money. Its a competitive industry, but remember your customers do matter. And before some random forum troll attacks me for this statement, YES, I'm aware one person probably doesn't matter to them that much BUT, I know for a fact I am not alone, as most of my friends on steam have come to the very same decision. Its been a good run, but sorry EA. I will NEVER use origin.
