I usually use encounters to avoid the scenario where the PC meets one creature in an area and suddenly all of the creatures come charging in at the PC. But I was wondering, would it work if I assigned each group in the are a different faction? NPCs only call to members of their own faction when they ask for help when attacking the PC, right? So if each different encounter had a different faction, that should eliminate the gang up factor.
Has anyone done this?

Have done a script that switch the faction of hostile only in a limited radius around the attacked NPC.

Is it a heartbeat script, or an OnPercep script?

it's the originals set script that I partially rewrote.... And I did my own ginc for all the function I had to rewrite. IF BGR is finished before your mod, you'll just have to dig in the campaign directory.
