I'd love to see the Asari get wiped out - oh, if only I could choose canon for the game.
I disapprove. <_<

They're a poorly written species with no redeeming features, so turning them into faceless grunts isn't much of a change imo.
they arent poorly written. the fact that we hate them so much is proof to that. as for redeeming features..well...i could say something, but i dont want to defend batarians. i feel like a need a shower just thinnkin about that.
They do have a redeeming feature. You get twice as much fun blinding them one eye at a time.

They aren't poorly written. The fact we hate them so much implies the opposite. And some individuals are reedeming, but that's a small percentage of the Batarian pie.

I'm hoping we get a Batarian squadmate.
OT:
I think that if the explanation for them attacking earth was that it was the closest, and the Batarians are closer, we can assume that the Batarians were probably wiped out, except for any Batarians not in Batarian space.

Bah, I like the Batarians. I've definitely always sympathized with them.

Have you played the ME dlc on the asteroid?
I cannot sympathise with that race after that.
If we do get a batarian squadmate I will make sure to be an **** to him on every occasion and not do his loyalty mission if there will be one, to insure he gets to die in some horrible death.

I know some will survive, but the question is whether there would be enough left to use as cannon fodder.

In addition; didn't anybody get *any* emergency transmission out, when they did arrive - if not the locals, then alliance spies?
We don't know, of course, how long the Reapers stayed, nor how large a contingency went to Earth and how many were left behind to finish the work - maybe they didn't so much sweep the Terminus systems, as plowed straight through it on their way towards "the real priiize", just pausing to pick up whatever poor sods happened to be directly in their way.
Frankly I'm quite surprised to see them descending at all, as opposed to using up their meat puppets first, before risking any bruises of their own, no matter how arrogant they are.
(The cannibals are supposed to be one of the hybrids, weren't they? I think on some of the pictures you can see a human face embedded near one of their shoulders)

I mean, the Rachni are going to need somewhere to live, aren't they?
