Ash/Kaidan - basically for story purposes. With Kaidan, I'm always open to getting another Sentinel on the team, but I'm curious as to what Ash will bring, due to her obvious re-design.

Garrus - b/c BW said so. He was also one of the powerhouse squaddies in ME2 and will carry over his powers into ME3. Seems he's become a Soldier with Overload, but another heavy hitter is welcome in my books.

Liara - also mostly b/c BW said so. However, she's easily the strongest biotic squaddie in the series, imo, which would be an asset, to say the least. After LotSB, I think she became my fav. squaddie, alongside Miranda.

Miranda - basically for story (she has nowhere to go that I can think of, really). Plus she was the ultimate support squaddie in ME2, which again, should carry over into ME3.

Jacob - like Miranda, I just can't see this guy going anywhere else. And that's about it... I think he needs an overhaul though, as far as his weapons/powers go.

Garrus, Tali, Mordin, Legion, and... tough choice... maybe Jack, because she's the best biotic, and she's more interesting then the others. (maybe because she's psycho)

Tali and Garrus must be permanent Squaddies. We took down Saren together, We took down Baby Reaper together and We'll face the end of ME3 together if there is any justice in the universe. My Shepard's two best friends who always have his back.

These two are non negotiable to me. Everyone else is optional companion-wise. Of the rest that haven't been confirmed, I'd greatly enjoy having Jack and Mordin back. I'll throw in Thane as the last choice to score Wife-points.

Well...Garrus and Liara are already confirmed permanent squad members, they were in all of the demos along with Shepard at E3. Along with Ashley and/or Kaidan.

Miranda - 100% has to be, as and when/how you meet her and "recruit" her back into the team. Her and Garrus were my go-to team in ME2, she's my LI so I'd love to see her confront Liara (my ME1 LI) for an extended period . Plus, like Garrus and Liara she's a badass character gameplay wise. 

Other than those three...I would have to say Wrex or Legion.

Here is my list, and the reasons why I decided to choose these characters.

Jacob - my LI, he left the Alliance and Cerberus
Liara - good friend who always can help
Garrus - he lost everything and the team is the only thing he has now
Grunt - I wanted Wrex but he is the leader of the clan Urdnot
Miranda - after destroying the Collector base she is TIM's assistant no longer.

Ashley, only one who had my back when Wrex when temporarily insane. Her proficiency with a boomstick does her well, too.

Garrus, for the memories.

Wrex is out of the question, sadly.

Mordin isn't coming either.

Joker was playable for a few minutes, but he's probably too busy piloting the Normandy and breaking his bones to get up and fight.

At least I get two characters I like? Hopefully James will be enough of a dudebro.
