Oh man, I'm struggling to stretch it to five to be honest... Okay, the first two are easy:

1) Mordin, because he is seriously my absolute favourite character in ME ever. Funny, but still very deep. Plus he's a salarian, and I love those skinny guys.

2) Legion. Major Geth fan. The design, the vocals, everything.

Then it gets tricky... I suppose third would be Garrus, since it makes sense and his sniper support has always been good backup through both previous games.
 
Then I don't know. Samara probably, since she was one of the few Asari I didn't want to strangle at some point. I find her code really interesting even if I never really use biotics.

And lastly... I would say Wrex but I think he has much bigger issues on Tuchanka right now. Next best thing is Grunt but he never really clicked with me... I guess I'd go for Kaiden for the history and the normal guy angle.

So it kinda looks like my dream team squad is waaay out from what we're actually getting. I could live happily never seeing Liara or Tali again. I never used them except when forced to. Tali remained benched through both ME1 and ME2 after the initial playthroughs trying everyone out. Liara remained benched through ME1 when she wasn't trying to initiate ninja romance on poor unsuspecting Shep. So yeah... Actually, if I wanted a quarian I'd want Qwib Qwib or Xen. Those two were pretty awesome I thought.

I will say though, Vega sounds like he could be cool.

Kaidan/Ash, Miri, Liara, Wrex and Legion.

...and then it's a toss up between Mordin, Samara & Legion. I'll say Mordin.

Kaidan and Garrus are a must. (with my Vanguard FemShep) My dream team.

Miranda needs to be there with everyting going on with Cerberus.

Legion loved the character.

I dont think Mordin will be a squad mate, I just get the impression from the gameplay vid that he is more of a appearance type. Though dont get me wrong I loved him.

Also it has to be, Legion, Garrus, Wrex, Liara and Tali.

If I were to pick five...

Jack
Samara
Miranda
Mordin
Wrex

Jack and Miranda because I really like them as characters, but more than anything else, I'd love to see their mutual dislike develop into a grudging "best buddies for life".
Mordin and Wrex are also favourites, but mainly I'd like to have them onboard simultaneously because of the genophage connection.
As for Samara...well, she's awesome. Can't really think of a plot excuse there.

Honourable mentions go to Kasumi and Legion.

Mirranda, Garrus, Legion, Tali and Thane

1. Mirranda, well because was my LI and to me an interesting character and a good squadmate.

2. Garrus, has been my fave character since ME1. And his sniper skills are to good use.

3. Legion, well there is just one word to describe him AWSOME,

4. Tali, well it would be interesting to have Tali and Legion on the same ship when the quarians are going to take back their homeworld from the geth. And was second fave character from ME 1.

5. Thane, my fave character from ME 2 and would like to cure his disease.

Well there were my 5 squaddies and this are my opinions.

Kaidan because he's such a versatile NPC and a very strong biotic.
Miranda--again, because of strong biotic skills with tech skills. In ME2 even though I don't like her Cerberus allegience, I take her along most of the time because she is quite useful.
Garrus for story reasons
Tali for story reasons (I never take her anywhere)
The 5th slot I don't have an opinion on. A Krogan would be useful.
