Game-wise, the powers seem well-designed to make ME3 combat much better and challenging. This will improve things as much or more as new gameplay mechanics.
Design-wise, I was extremely pleased to see the new emphasis placed on defining fighting capabilities first, then designing an enemy around that. That is not giving artistry a back seat. That is giving artistry a solid internal logic. Instead of designing a scary looking enemy and then figuring out its attacks, they realize that the attacks are what make an enemy scary, not just looks. No monster, however ugly, is frightening if you know an easy way to kill it. Figure out it's capabilities first, then give it the right look. That's frightening.
BW TV is getting better. All in all, that was one of the most informative videos yet.
