I work at EB Games (Gamestop) and I guarantee you we will have pre-ordering goodies with ME3.(Nothing got announced officially yet, though.)

Yea it's annoying, especially since pre-ordering from amazon is a lot cheaper than from Gamestop.
You do know you can price-match, right? Just put down $10 or w/e the minimum is to guarantee you a copy, and then when the day comes pay the rest, and ask for it to be price-matched to a nearby store that also has it cheaper.

That, and I never really saw "stock" as an issue. I pre-orded the ME2 CE from Best Buy 3 weeks before release.

I do hate store only content like Fable III had. I liked the weapon from Best Buy vs the one at Gamestop. I still got my copy at Gamestop.
Suppose we will have to see. I hope all the content is the same no matter where one buys it.

I usually pre-order at Gamestop when I get a game right away. Usually because they get a midnight release.and I don't want to wait for the game I really want to arrive in the mail.

Fable III had very generic weapons and I think Gamestop also got a quest... how is this a huge issue ? I found it pretty generic. those weapons are not over-powered so you are not advantaged from your companion when online playing...

If that's the case, I guess I'm switching to Gamestop when it's announced.

IMO, Rockstar has set a precedent for how to deal with retailer exclusive promotional content. Sell as much retailer exclusive content as you want, but ANNOUNCE to us consumers that you will be selling it as DLC in the future.
Rockstar has done this with Red Dead Redemption and LA Noire. They have proven they can use retailer exclusive promotions, make it profitable, and then still make those promotional items available as DLC at a later point.
The precedent has been set Bioware, I am hoping you can meet or exceed this precedent.

Every consumer hates this because every consumer wants all the items, no one wants to know there are 5 more guns or pieces or armor out there that they don't have access to.
