What Dice said, good job.

One thing: According to the interwebs, June 6 is a monday in 2185. Shouldn't ME3 take place in 2186 (where it's a tuesday)? Probably just an oversight, not really important. It's cool in the first place that it's on June 6.

Doesn't Alliance has only 200 ships?

Codex...
The Alliance maintains an impressive navy consisting of over 200 vessels ranging from small hundred meter frigates to imposing kilometer long dreadnoughts and carriers. It is one of the greater forces in Citadel space and a serious rival to that of the turians, however, the Alliance is only entitled to a small number of dreadnoughts compared to the turians, a 1 to 5 ratio as of 2183, due to the Treaty of Farixen limiting their construction among the citadel races. The Alliance navy has made up for this with the innovative design and deployment of carriers, which are as large as dreadnoughts but are not restrained by the Treaty of Farixen. The fleet is headquartered at Arcturus Station,a strategically invaluable installation whose system contains several primary mass relays leading to human territory in addition to the secondary mass relay to Earth, and as such it is heavily defended by sizable naval forces.

You can argue it says over 200 but why would it say over 200 instead of over 1000?

Earth is screwed. Why don't just blow it all up and kill thousands of Reapers? Oh wait, we can't. Damn...

Earth is not only one attacked.

It is confirmed that Palaven and Tuchanka are attacked too and entire "South" part of Milky Way.

LOL. Having lived in Adelaide from Birth - I gave a little cheer at its moment of fame.

We'll take what we can get.

If you're from SA, you'll know Mike Rahn will be telling the world + dog that ME3 mentioned Adelaide! :)

Noticed that too.

Probably a combination of arms build up after the Citadel was attacked, and even more so since they became a Council race. (Not just in dreadnoughts, but in general) Or it could be that she is counting ships smaller than frigate class, because including fighters and gunship-sized ships would number way into the thousands. Or perhaps individual nations keep a token "fleet". Though that last one is unlikely.

Or it could be like what I would like to see... That the reporter is also including non-Alliance ships in her count... Kind of like that episode of Futurama where Lrr invades the Earth so he can watch the finale to "Single Female Lawyer" and Zapp musters any able ship to the Earth's defense, including civillian ships. Though I don't know how many would be allowed armament in the ME universe.

Also like that the Fleet is in retreat - When I heard the Fleet was destroyed in an interview I got a bit peeved that the alliance fleet was wiped out - glad to hear that it may have only been a portion or rearguard.

Also on the Treaty of Farixen...didn't Hackett petition that restriction to be loosened shortly before the events of Arrival? They said up to 12 months after arrival (or ME3) so its possible there could be a good number more of Dreadnaughts kicking around.

"Reports Gigantic explosion in/near Adelaide, Australia; "

Why would anyone attack Adelaide? :o

About the fleet numbers, we can assume the Alliance increased its military presence after ME/ME2.

Also as far as I know the Systems Alliance has jurisdiction outside the solar system. The way it was presented in the first Mass Effect, individual nations and organisations on the Earth still maintained their (albeit smaller) military forces. They just surrendered sovereignty to the SA to represent humanity at the galactic level.

As for Adelaide..i dunno maybe they have a grudge againist the University there or something jk

but I wonder if the ship numbers count fighters ground based and carrier based or maybe the Alliance really did kick their ship production into high gear. Or maybe they orbiting defense ships I dunno

It's Japanese (they use Chinese characters) - I can read some of it, give me a little while to work out the rest.

It does mention something coming 'from a colony' (or colonies).

Unlikely.

Alliance needed 50 years to make 200 ships AND they had to rebuild after they got heavy casualties from Sovereign AND they had to lend some ships for Citadel Defense fleet when they joined the Council.

The Reapers invade Earth and the first thing they do is destroying Hamburg? Ah... c'mon we have enough problems already with all the countries in the euro zone going bankrupt and strange stuff in our salad and now Hamburg is the first city that's destroyed? Give us a break.

Then Maybe the Alliance wasn't honest with the citidal about the size of their fleet. but like I said i'm not sure how they got that many
