Scale:

The scale of the game looks enormous. The scene in the fleeing the earth demo, when shepard is accompanying Anderson is just fantastic. I have never played any game with such scale. There is destruction and carnage going on as far as you can see. The best part is when a ship explodes and its mass effect core creates a shockwave knocking shepard out from the catwalk even when he is standing atleast 2-3 miles away.

Physics:

They have improved the engine a lot. There is a video of shepard fighting the geth and cerberus and shepard is using push. When he uses push on cerberus trooper, the trooper gets knocked down and bounces off the floor or walls. The fact that it looks very real and not the ragdoll physics we usually get says a lot about the effort ME3 team is putting into this game.

Sound:

The guns sound menacing, lot of punch in them. Using the Omni-Blade is both a pleasure to eyes and ears. The biotics are specially wonderful. Launching a throw attack looks immensly gratifying with the new "skadoosh" sound effect that follows it.

Combat movement:

After seeing ME3 I was wondering why wasn't this in ME2 since all this is pretty much in every Third person shooter. The battlefield is very dynamic troopers landing from here and there, doing rolls, melee and other things. Shepard moves very fluidly across the battlefield and looks more like a N7 agent than ever before.

Shepard:

Is it just me or does shepard looks extremely handsome; and I am dude and I never say that, ever. The face looks very lifelike. Just amazing. I wonder how custom shepards will look. The textures have been greatly improved.

Screenplay:

I know its hard to judge seeing only 10 minutes of the game but doesn't every scene feels rushed. Meeting Mordin was very underwhelming. I know they were underfire, but how much time does it take to ask about what, when how etc. Even garrus was under fire in ME2, we still talked to him. The child scene was also not as great as people would have us believe.

I think ME2 was better in that case. A krogan talking to his friend about his possible son in Tuchanka was a heart wrenching moment. Something that he has and can't have all because someone tried to play god. I think the child scene could have been handed better. Like if the child was covered in blood or was hugging his dead mother he had dragged into the vents with him. Something like that.

I am not whining, I just want it to be the most amazing game ever, in and out of combat. And I know that ME3 will not dissapoint.

I certainly like how the enemies roll to avoid fire, but I feel that it needs to be more beneficial for them. A lot of the time, they rolled when they really should've charged or continued to fire, and this made them easy targets for the player.

It's true. I never expected to see this much improvement in ME3; I always assumed it was going to be basically ME2 with more content and subtle additions here and there. That said, the Earth demo is about the only thing that actually amazed me to the core. The demo on Sur'Kesh wasn't all that special in my eyes, but the Earth one...

I have to agree with you here. I was delighted when I saw his face. It's a pleasure to have such an avatar. He's a human, not a robot, yay! And such an attractive human, too. I'm not sure what it is, perhaps the lines on his face, or the sadness in his eyes, but I finally can easily picture anyone falling in love with him. He looks like a tragic, handsome hero. I'm actually looking forward to seeing more shots of his face, while in ME2 I was content with staring at the weaponry on his back. Cinematics are really awesome, looking forward to the dialogue. And that moment when he says, "She's still here," turning his head. It's all great! I hope it's the default Shepard, so that we can just plug him and play.

EDIT: Anderson greately improved, too. Looking forward to seeing what TIM looks like.
(groan) And don't tell me that TIM looks like Saren after the transfromation! I...don't think I'm going to surivive that.

This so make me want to play a biotic in ME3 just for the sake of seeing a lot of flying Cerberus troopers. Thankfully my adept playthrough is all done and ready for import, even with 9 months left to wait.

Most likely this wasn't implemented into ME2 because of the already dramatic change from ME1 to ME2. Also I guess it's got something to do with the fact that ME2 is about 2 years old by now. The dynamic battlefield looked incredibly nice, and this was JUST an unpolished, unbalanced demo, this bodes well for the actual game. Also the speed of combat in ME3 seems to have picked up a notch or 2, compared to the developer promise 'Veteran will be the new normal' I'm wondering about the actual difficulty of ME3. Still, I'm confident this game will turn out great.

Yeah I do have to say that i was very VERY impressed by the demo all around, Movement, graphics, animations, gameplay, customization. etc.

Also in regards to the screenplay section (OP) you also have to remember we're probably being shown middle sections of something so as not to spoil too much with regards to the story, as far as the Mordin scene goes, how do we know thats not a bridging scene? The intro may be quite a bit before that so maybe all the talking was already done you know?

Either way, E3 did me the terrible injustice of making me even MORE excited for ME3 and then CRUSHING my hopes by saying its 9 months away....*sigh* Do they not realize i'm going to have a newborn child to deal with!?

Its just...rude is all :) Making me wait all that long...

I second this. And I like that Sheploo has grown some beared. It makes him more manly.

I was already anxiously waiting for this game but now I wish we could fast forward time to 2012. The combat looks fantastic, I love the improved graphics, it's nothing too dramatic from ME2 but just enough to polish the look.

I liked that they showcased the scene with the little boy, I really hope we get a lot of dramatic moments like that. ME2 had some great cinematic moments but I'm sure they can only do better and emphasize on emotion more rather then pyrotechnics all the time.

It was all enough to make me pre order the CE..

i was very impressed with the earth demo: the ships moving in the expansive backgrounds, the dynamic level change as the building collapsed etc, if this is prevalent throughout the game i will be very happy - it looked epic. however the "generic" (and i say that without being mean because the section was pretty much just shooting) Sur'kesh (sp?) section looked markedly less interesting precisely because it was just shooting and all those cool elements were gone for what looked like samey corridors. overall though it looks like it may even top ME2, which will be an incredible achievement.

I do agree Jebel, but i figure not EVERY scene or level can be as epic as say the reapers first invading earth or the Reaper base, i'm sure there WILL be lots of those scenes, but for as many epic scenes there will probably be a few normal "corridor" ones as well.

oh yeah obviously there's peaks and valleys there, i'm just saying to show the game off for the first time, the first few glimpses (not of the earth section) were combat in bland sections of levels - not the greatest start, thankfully it got a lot better from then on. actually i posted in another thread that i was quite surprised that so much is still unfinished, but then there's now a healthy wait before release so it should be all good.

Yep. There were only three little things that irked me - They can either be explained away as temporary, and if not, I can live with them.

But from the combat to mods, to the skills, to the dialogue, to the backgrounds that are WAAAAAY better than those drawn backgrounds we had in ME2 (and the drawn cutscenes, ugh).

Yep, ME3 has rocked my world. Its going to be awesome beyond words, including the word awesome.
