1. Face scan for character (that means Shepard) creation.
ME
has always been an immersive experience that makes players feels like
they are Commander Shepard, making all the decisions, saving the
Universe, etc.
I think allowing players to use their own face to create Shepard's will help this purpose.
And this is nothing new. I got an achievement by this in Rainbow Six Vegas 2. I guess it's not too difficult to implement, right?
2. Voice QTE
ME2 has button QTE. But voice QTE might be even more suitable during conversation.
3. Interactions by facial expression
Not sure if Kinect can do this. Just brainstorming.
4. Gesture/Voice shortcut for complicated menu options.
Sometimes you need to drill down several levels of a menu hierarchy to find what you
want, right? e.g. Start --> Squad --> Miranda
Or you need to press more than 1 buttons to do what you want. e.g. Switching guns during combat.
Or when there are several interact-able objects in front of you, and you
keep slightly moving Shepard to change his/her focus, so that you can
finally interact with the object you want.
With Gesture/Voice, that means there can be an infinite number of "shortcut button".
Think about all the shortcuts you can make to help streamline the gameplay.
Some examples I can think of:
- At anywhere, say "check Garrus status", and his status screen is shown.
- As soon as you enter Normandy's bridge, say "Kelly, anything I should
know?", and she tells you rightaway, without having you walk up to her
and start the conversation.
- At weapon customization screen, say "highest firepower", and your gun
is automatically customized with suitable parts. (Think about the Ghost
Recon Future Soldier demo in E3 MS PressCon)
- At armor customization screen, say "pale blue", and it's painted pale blue.
- In combat, except ordering squadmates to move, I think many other
options can also be "voiced". e.g. Squad tactics. Just say "focus
attack", "no biotics", "fallback",
etc. Or say "use medi-gel" when you are low on HP. Say "shotgun" when
you want to switch gun. In brief, the idea is to minimize, or even
eliminate, the number of times you have to open a menu and hence paused
the battle. This should make the combat much more exciting.
