Don't get me wrong though, I absolutely love what Bioware is doing with Mass Effect 3 and I'm sure Bioware will stick to their design of varying Reaper Models.

But seriously, the Reaper noise gives me that same feeling I get when I watch the obelisk of light obliterate GDI tanks. It's eargasm mixed with pure gut-bubbling awesome.

The VI noise (whenever it pops up) is just a heavy mix of IRRITATING and FREAKY. Initially I had my tv's volume on 15 which is fairly loud, but not that loud and whenever the VI popped up and did the "angry noise" and "MAKE IT STOP! MAKE IT STOP!" noise, It sounded as if it was on 25 I learned my lesson from then on.. And whenever I play Overlord.. I lower the games dialogue volume by 30% and keep it on TV volume 12.

But anyways on topic. Reapers sound like the evil robots and Deceptacons from Transformers. EXACTLY alike IMO. Bioware/EA must have relations with Michael Bay..

I heard whale sounds, some weird reverbs on lions etc I think. I cant remeber the trailer that you actually heard the reapers, but the sound design is amazing. The effects people come up with for monsters/ creatures always amazes me! Or how some of the weapons sound like real world weapons that have been pitch shifted higher and processed to sound futuristic but believable.

I seem to remember hearing that they got the sound effects of Sovereign bye placing a microphone in a dumpster and opening and closing it and then slowing the recording down and playing it backwards.

I think they say that on the bonus disc for the Mass Effect platinum hits edition

Don't know if it's been said, but yes. When you first see Sovereign on Eden Prime as it's taking off and Ashley goes "Look at the size of it!" it makes the noise. I always attributed this noise to indoctrination, as the colonists mentioned the noise and how it bores into your skull.

Actually, I thought that the voice of the Reapers was much less intimidating this time round. Sovereign talked with this unholy metallic monotone which was extremely threatening. There's too much ... intonation in the Reaper's voices this time round.
