Well I figure that those Prothean scientists who survived the cull on Ilos in stasis, and got to the citadel to change the Keepers, probably managed to get into stasis pods again there.

Given we are told on an E3 video interview of the ME 3 devs by Machinima that yes, we will get to explore the Citadel in ME3, and more of it, my best guess is we are going to find one of them! Maybe they will fill the spot Mordin did as our on-board scientist..

The codex says that Sovereign is a Geth ship (or at least the ME1 codex did). The codex is not the word of god. It is the encyclopedia Shepard has access to in game and thus is prone to in game popular belief.

Moi, you need to change your litter box. The fumes are gettin' to ya. :) The Codex does NOT say, Sov is a Geth Ship. It states that, " The prevailing opinion is that Sov is a Geth construction, while others believe it is a Prot relic. it's design hints at a more alien and mysterious origin."

I'm not going through the entire codex, just yet. So... if you say the Codex is wrong, and I'm not trying to put words in your food bowl, plrese point out ( and I'm sure you will ) the inaccuracies. Besides, the pic of the Prot doesn't come across as an opinion. I see it as rather concrete. Although, it does raise the question, Where the hell does that pic come from?

Tigger...I give you the floor...

We can't be sure that the Ilos statues were actually protheans. It could have been a deity or a revered creature or something. Or hell, maybe they're husks and the protheans just had a sick sense of humor or were really morbid or something

After extensive genetic modification, it would be foolish to think that the Collectors are what Protheans looked like. I don't know if they are like the statues or not, that is totally outside what is knowable without dev input. A few changes in genetic code and humans are now rats, or deer, or apes, or cats, or any number of things. And no it doesn't take much changing to do it, there is very little difference genetically speaking between most animal life on our planet. Keep this point in mind when you remember the EXTENSIVE genetic modifications done on the Protheans and the appalling habit the Reapers have of changing species to suit their needs, ie Cannibals, Husks, Scions, and Praetorians all come to mind.

The statues are very similar to the individuals we see in Shepard's visions.

Referring to my earlier post.

I stand corrected on that specific point, however in reviewing the entry I would like to point out that there is no mention in the Codex of Sovereign being a Reaper and that it is crewed by Geth and Krogan. Why would a sentient ship need a crew? Where is there any evidence of a crew? Saren (and Sovereign) had Krogans serving on other worlds, but I don't remember any on the Citadel after Illos, just Geth, who either came in from Illos or via Geth dropships.

That is from the same entry so you shouldn't have to go far to look it up. "Its design hints at a more alien and sinister origin' remains in the codex long after we know it is a Reaper.

In short, the picture of a Prothean could be the ME equivalent of the many variations of 'bat-boy' or 'sasquatch' pictures that have been published, namely some artist or scholar's best guess.
