I'm really disappointed that the "Of Noble Birth" quest is bugged so I always get a "failed" entry in my journal even though I did everything right. But I'm more disappointed that that particular story arc totally ended right there - absolutely nothing was mentioned about what happened or about Lord Aeducan's (the male Dwarf Noble PC) son after that, not even an extra snippet in the epilogue.
So... are we ever going to find out what happened to Aeducan's illegitimate son? I really want to know.

My original character was a dwarf noble, and I restarted the game 3 times, trying to get this quest right. What's worse, is that everyone gets a failed quest log for "Of Noble Birth", even if not a dwarf noble. My humans and elves get that, even when they never met Mardy.
If we ever know about the dwarf noble's son, then it would have to be in DA3 or later, as there's no epilogue mention or anything. For some reason, the epilogue will mention if you give Bevin in Redcliffe back his sword, but they don't mention a possible heir to the Orzammar throne.
I would have rather had this scenario not be in the game at all, then to be bugged as it is.

Yeah, I really wondered about that too..
Darn I hope it at least gets an honorable mention in the next game! It was VERY good little subplot imo.
